  18. Webber offers support for DC Red Bull may find an edge over its nearest Formula One rivals later this season because of its superior driver lineup, according to Mark Webber. The Australian wrote in his column for the Swiss publication Motorsport Aktuell that he believes development work at the Renault-powered outfit will be "done properly" this year because he and veteran David Coulthard are at the wheel of the RB4. "We have two drivers. Williams and Renault have only one," Webber noted. The 31-year-old, however, concedes that Kazuki Nakajima and Nelson Piquet - widely considered to be the lesser drivers at their respective teams, "can be good at times" . But he thinks that, particularly this year, a consistently strong pair of drivers is crucial, given the sweeping regulation changes looming for 2009. "We must extract the full potential from the current car as quickly as possible," Webber said, referring to the fact that teams must begin working on their single seaters for next year much earlier than usual.

Schumacher not ready for Moto GP competition “He would need to learn to ride a bike a little faster” - Stoner Reigning MotoGP champion Casey Stoner has played down suggestions that Michael Schumacher could already be quick enough to compete at the highest level of motorcycle racing. The seven time world champion has been dabbling on two wheels since hanging up his Formula One helmet, including recently stepping in at a Ducati test when the Italian team's regular test rider was injured. It emerged from the Mugello test that 39-year-old Schumacher's best lap was about eight seconds off the pace of race riders Stoner and Marco Melandri. Stoner, an Australian, dismissed reports that the German can now - as is the case at Ferrari - be referred to as Ducati's official occasional test rider. "Michael's not testing anything. He's just riding a bike, he's having fun," he told Speed TV. "No matter how much experience he has in F1 he would need to learn to ride a bike a little faster before he started giving advice on electronic systems and suspension." Stoner, 22, agrees however that Schumacher's riding is "quite exceptional" for someone with very little experience on two wheeled racers. Schumacher's manager, Willi Weber, agrees that the German is simply making the most of his professional retirement. "He only lasts two minutes on the sofa," he told Germany's Bild newspaper. "It is impossible for him to do nothing.”

Inzaghi walks down memory lane Pippo Inzaghi is looking forward to visiting former side Juventus and has revealed his desire to play at the Olympics. Super Pippo spent a successful period with the Old Lady between 1997 and 2001 and scored 57 goals in 120 games. But tomorrow he will be charged with the task of slaying the Bianconeri to help keep Milan’s fragile Champions League qualification hopes alive. “I don’t mind if I score as long as Milan win,” Inzaghi insisted in La Gazzetta dello Sport. “I have lots of friends in Turin and it wouldn’t give me any pleasure to see Juve suffer. “The Bianconeri fans always appreciated me because they saw that I gave my soul on the pitch. “Now I am only thinking of Rossoneri without any desire to prove myself to anyone else. But obviously Juve-Milan is a special game for me.” One opponent that Inzaghi has the greatest of respect for is former strike partner Alessandro Del Piero. “Alex is on great form and hasn’t been injured all season, so he has been able to train regularly throughout the campaign – that is the secret to it,” the Piacenza native explained. “But this isn’t just a game for Del Piero and me – there are lots of other important players on both sides. “It is always nice for me to meet friends and former teammates, like Gigi Buffon and the other work champions. “Other than the obvious names, I also really rate Giorgio Chiellini and Mauro Camoranesi, who have the character as well as the talent.” Inzaghi has recovered from a long-term injury and announced his return to full fitness with a crucial brace against Cagliari, prompting suggestions that he could be selected as one of Italy’s overage players for the Olympics. “I was sidelined for a long time, but I am happy to have given my contribution in the Super Cup and the World Club Cup and I want to help in the final sprint,” he enthused. “It would be a fascinating experience to go to Beijing, but my priority remains Milan and everything else comes afterwards. “Nonetheless, I do have a close bond to the Azzurri shirt – if I weren’t so dedicated to Italy I wouldn’t have gone to play against the Faroe Islands after the Champions League Final. "The national side is an honour and the Olympics is a dream,” he concluded.

Kaka An Inter Fan This Weekend Kaka says that he hopes Milan can beat Juventus tonight, and then he will be supporting Inter against Fiorentina. The Rossoneri are struggling to qualify for next season’s Champions League, and are currently in fifth place, four points behind Fiorentina, who occupy the final qualification position. This weekend could be pivotal in deciding next season’s European entrants, with Milan travelling to Juventus tonight, and Inter playing host to Fiorentina tomorrow evening. "I see a Milan who will in Turin, and then an Inter who beat Fiorentina on Sunday so that we are a point behind the Viola,” Kaka told the Gazzetta dello Sport. The Brazilian, who has struggled with injury for most of the campaign, has refused to label Milan’s season as a failure. "I have no regrets,” he said. “We could have come up against a less strong team [Arsenal] in the second round of the Champions League, but we must accept what happened. “I would not consider this a negative season. In the championship we can still come fourth and we won two major trophies.” Milan triumphed in both the European Super Cup last August, as well as the World Club Cup in Japan before Christmas.

Pato Confirmed Out Against Juve AC Milan boss Carlo Ancelotti's selection problems have worsened ahead of the vital match against Juventus on Saturday, as Brazilian shooting star Alexandre Pato will definitely have to miss out on the trip to Turin. The 18-year-old was already forced to sit out last week’s 3-1 win over Cagliari, and has now been completely omitted from the squad-list for a match that could very well decide whether the San Siro giants will be part of the Champions League next year. “He has not trained at all since last Thursday,” revealed the Rossoneri coach, who will already have to due without the suspended Alessandro Nesta and Kakha Kaladze, as well as Marek Jankulovski, Massimo Oddo and former Juventus midfielder Emerson. Juventus currently occupy third, six points ahead of Milan, who simply cannot afford any more dropped points in their bid to secure Champions League football next season.
