Leonardo DiCaprio - (Please Read First Post Prior to Posting)
I agree jade, just because he doesn't mention the movie often that doesn't mean he doesn't anockledge what the movie made for his career. I think sometimes he might get sick of the Jack jokes because that was 22 years ago... still, I think he's VERY grateful!

thanks for the article jade. Maybe Leo should thank Paul Rudd on becaming a huge movie star, hehe. Somtimes I think that without Titanic Leo could be one of those actors we think like: Oh, I know that actor but don't know his name... For sure Titanic made him a movie star but obviously the talent was always there and I do think he would be sucessful anyway, but probably with much less chances to choose what he really wanted to do and guide his own career. But for me Titanic is far from my faves Leo movies, still I recognize the power of this movie, that made both Leo and Kate careers as how they are today, so I'm sure Leo is thankful and all the fans too. Titanic was undoubtedly the film that catapulted Leonardo DiCaprio from indie actor to international superstar, but there was a point where he wasn't too sure whether to take the role. That is until a certain ageless man stepped in. As shown on The Graham Norton Show last night, Paul Rudd looks back on a time that may have had a huge impact on Leonardo DiCaprio's career. He begins on the topic by speaking to Robert De Niro about him mentoring a young Leo as a 14-year-old. De Niro says that he spotted that Leo had a huge talent from a young age, before Graham turns to Paul Rudd, as someone else who had a 'huge influence' on DiCaprio's career. Paul Rudd said: "I don't think I had an influence, but sometimes, looking back you find yourself in some interesting conversations and moments in time. "I worked with Leonardo on Romeo and Juliet and at the time, my father made his living as a Titanic expert and he used to take people all over the world talking about Titanic - he'd go to universities, etc. "It was my last day of filming Romeo + Juliet and we all went out to a bar afterward, all the guys. "We were in different cars and I was riding to the place with Leo and he said 'I just got offered this movie, a big movie - he had done indie films up until this point. "It's a studio movie, it's Titanic and I said 'that's incredible', and I knew a lot about Titanic because my dad just talks about it. "And we just had a conversation about it, and he was saying 'I don't know what I'll do and I said 'you should do it'." So there we have it, without the encouragement from the son of an expert, Leo may have been in a very different situation. Rudd added: "I don't think I had any say, but it is kind of interesting to think back on that." Graham replied: "Yeah, there was a moment when he might not have done it." To which Rudd jokes: "And he did it!" Of course, the 1998 film is one of the most well known of all time and the production team considered a few different A listers for the role of Jack - meaning it is really lucky that Leonardo grabbed the chance when he could. According to an interview with Kate Winslet, she also said that Matthew McConaughey auditioned with her for the part - and nearly took it. Thankfully for Leo, the Jack Dawson role was all his. Found this lurking on youtube, the audience reaction in the opening scene is hysterical, too cool. I read in the comments that was filmed from a theatre in India.

Yes, I agree. The screen caps doesn't make justice to how handsome he looked in that scene, that jacket, with that hair and those very blue eyes.

Yeah, now IDK... because his foundation changed. Still, I'am sure he have a voice and after all he's the one using his image to raise awareness, he's the image of the foundation.

thanks for more pics, ox. Best Actor will be tough competition in 2020. So De Niro is a major force, without a doubt. Right behind him, Leonardo Dicaprio for Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is a near lock, if you like putting your chips on one contender. The film itself, to my mind, remains the frontrunner to win — its main challengers right now, I’d say, would be Jojo Rabbit and The Irishman. We’re still waiting to see 1917 and Little Women, thus, a lot can change, but for now DiCaprio’s work in Once is most likely one of the five. https://www.awardsdaily.com/2019/09/30/best-actor-too-many-contenders-with-no-frontrunner-yet/

It seems Leo needs to pay more attention... https://www.ooskanews.com/story/2019/09/dear-mr-dicaprio-you-are-poorly-advised_178700 He should pay more attention to where he's giving his money or visibility to the cause, according to the article below the planting trees is not exactly helping that region... I think this is such a bummer because his intentions are clearly good, but sometimes as he's not there in that place of the world to really know what's happening it makes things harder, he probably didn't knew that planting trees in that area wouldn't be good. Or he tries to make a deeper study about where he's sending his foundation money and help, or he don't put his finger where he doesn't have sure of what's happening, otherwise people will be hunting and criticizing him, he's the obvious choice because he's known worldwide , I can say this about some Brazilians too, some people criticized him by the simple fact that he donated money to help Amazonia and said he didn't knew nothing about Brazil or the forest, it seems for some people the attitude of help is simply not enough. It's a hard subject, if he helps he's doing wrong and if he doesn't help he's also doing wrong... so, it's impossible to please everyone. Anyway, I'm glad he keeps helping the way he can and he's doing a great job, though sometimes I think he needs to more careful.
