More UHQ, same era (1991-1992). I would have uploaded these a long time ago, but the image uploader never seemed to work with large files.

I think this was part of a 3 page ad on the back of the cover of the New York Times Magazine for Mother's Day, around the same time (91-92). UHQ again

awesome finds! the Meisel shots are new to me.

Monika Jagaciak
She posted to instagram around that time with either a comment or hashtag that said "unemployed," which would seem to indicate that she was dropped by VS.

Taylor Hill
That's not Taylor in that instagram shot, it's a model named Maja Krag: https://www.instagram.com/majakrag/?hl=en

Looks like that text says "light brigade." Nice find!

Thanks for the Arthur Elgort shots. They're new to me, and that's rare. Btw, the scan of the police report for her recent DWI shows her birthdate as 7/26/68, not 7/23. I wonder if that's just a mistake on the part of the officer, or if that's her real birthdate. It boggles my mind why a company would not want the free publicity and advertising afforded by having their product images posted to and talked about in a forum that receives tens of thousands of views, and not just random views, but by users who are in the precise demographic that the company is marketing to. This is exactly how viral marketing works, and it doesn't cost them a cent. IMHO: crazy on their part. Hi guys - the reason we don't want these blown up quite yet, is that we have yet to launch these products. We sell swimsuits, and we don't have any of these ready to sell. We love the images and want maximum impact when we can sell the suits- so that is our reasoning. We obviously can't force anybody to take them down, but we would appreciate it if they were utilized later. We love Josephine too, and we appreciate the love and free advertising. + if it matters to anybody, we're not corporate - we're a family run business in san diego - cheers Hi People of Sauvage - Thanks for posting here and clarifying your reasoning, which makes perfect sense! I've owned a couple of brands myself, and I understand the importance of "impact" and timing when it comes to releasing a new product, or a new line of products for an already established brand. You haven't lost any fans, and your products, model / photographer choices, and branding are consistently great. Cheers!

Stella Maxwell
I don't really care what celebrities do in their private lives (unless they make me part of their private life ), but I wonder what Stella's V.S. Angel contract says. Is there a clause that outlines some standards of conduct when she's in public? My guess is there's at least something in there, and this may or may not meet the threshold. I guess we'll have to see.....

Hey palmat: I just checked, and if you want the zoomed images from Love Haus just replace the last two letters in the URL of the preview image with "ZM" instead of "FS." Here's an example URL (copy into your browser and add the "http://" - I don't want to break the rules and hotlink): lovehaus.blob.core.windows.net/images/products/1_2460_ZM.JPG I have found Firefox's "Page Info" -> "Media" feature to be very helpful for figuring stuff like this out

I could totally see new girls that V.S. is "trying out" not getting paid very much. Good point ')

It basically works the way champagnebrulee described. No model in her right mind turns down a Vogue editorial, and especially a cover. The same way the editorials advertise the clothes to the public, they advertise the models to the directors who choose girls for major campaigns. The more times a girl is inside or on the cover of the major fashion magazines, even for little to no pay, the more likely she'll get a major campaign. Girls who become staples of V.S. early on don't have to worry about that as much, because V.S. pays so well and is great exposure alone, but even Candace is non-exclusive and will occasionally be in a major, non-V.S. campaign. At one point I remember reading in the Forbes list that Adriana was making $5 million a year, and I believe that included all of her work, V.S. and everything else. Actually I just found the link: http://www.forbes.com/models/

Candice Swanepoel
500daysofbryan - your scanning and PDF'ing skills are unparalleled. Is there one place where all of your PDFs are located for download?
-
Candice Swanepoel
Thank you CandleVixen! I see now that it's pinned. Silly me! Now I'd just like to know where the immaculately scanned PDFs of the catalogs come from
-
Candice Swanepoel
Hey, a couple of questions: Are these your own scans of the printed catalog, and if so, how did you get such impeccable quality? If not, what is the source of the VS catalog in HQ PDF and jpg form? Finally, where is the "VS Thread" you referred to? "VS" is not a valid search term in bellazon's search box. How about a link? I'm not complaining - your post is great - just need more info!

Issues with the Attachment Function
The file attachment system has never worked for me with files above a certain size (both basic uploader and regular uploader). I'm using the latest version of Firefox and Flash on Windows 7. I can upload a 2 MB jpg attachment, but a 5 MB attachment never works. It didn't work two years ago and didn't work now. This is really too bad because I have a ton of classic scans I could contribute and I keep giving up. See screenshots, and notice the "Error 500" when the 5 MB file failed:

Vintage VS scans
Btw, why does the file uploader say I can upload "unlimited" files up to "1 GB" in size, and yet it fails every time with a 5 MB file? I want to upload the full scan of that Stephanie Seymour page. I have a bunch of stuff I could upload and it never works!

Vintage VS scans
Hi Capt_Bob - I don't remember if I ever commented about your scans in the past or not, but since you're spending so much time scanning and you have such a great collection, I thought I should give you a few scanning tips. I scanned a few pages a long time ago, and my scans look a LOT better. I think the problem is that you're scanning at too low a resolution (I scan at LEAST 300 dpi, and 400 dpi is even better - you want to scan at a HIGHER resolution than the source resolution), and you're not "de-screening" (this "smooths" the halftone dot pattern). I'm attaching one of my scans for comparison. I can tell you all of the settings I used if you're interested. It seems like a waste of time to scan all of this stuff and not scan it at the highest possible quality. I've attached two 100% crops, one of them is my scan (on the left) and the other is your scan (on the right, "capt bob" in the file name). Notice the difference.

Thanks guys, I'll do some googling and figure it out. I just think it's weird that I'm in New York where the show is filmed, and can't see it. Isn't that the SNL official YouTube channel?

While searching for another version of that clip, I did find this pretty amazing endorsement with Stephanie for a plastic surgery office. This doctor must be the best there is! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CcQW42OkOgU

I'd love to see that video, but I get the message "the uploader has not made this video available in your country." Maybe you could use DownloadHelper to save to your computer then re-up to YouTube? edit: That doesn't make any sense! It's the SNL main YouTube account and I'm in freakin' New York City. How can it not be available to me?
