Sergio Ramos: I imagine a magical moment for 2011… I see us winning La Décima and the entire team surrounding the Cup in the Bernabéu, with the fans enjoying the moment. I hope to start the year on a good foot and with the aspiration to continue working and growing.

Casillas: "I hope children enjoyed seeing us current players and that their parents had fun seeing those from the past" Figo: "The atmosphere was fantastic and the crowd was great" Realmadrid.com / Translation by Michael J. O'Donnell Iker Casillas and Luis Figo talked to the media following the charitable match they both helped organise. Casillas "It isn't easy to make so many important players come together. I hope children enjoyed seeing us current players and that their parents had fun seeing those from the past." "My favourite moment of 2010 was winning the World Cup in South Africa. It was the icing on the cake that was baked with the Euro 2008 title and also the best football memory this country has. I hope 2011 ends up being like 2010. We will do our best to make it so." "Mourinho is very happy here and he wants to stay a long time. I've been at the Club for 18 years and I am now the team captain, just like Sanchis and Hierro before me. It's always been like this. Real Madrid is a news generating machine and everything regarding us is always exaggerated. The important thing is that the team is united." Figo "We achieved our goal of making unfortunate people excited about something again."

Mourinho: I deserve Ballon d'Or Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho claims he would be the most deserving winner of the Ballon d'Or. With his former team Inter Milan, Mourinho won the treble - leading his side to the Serie A, Coppa Italia and Champions League trophies. And he is not shy of reinforcing that fact. In comments reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, he said: "I've made my choice - 11 months' work, 57 matches played, three titles including the most important of all, the tournament, the Champions League. "I have won everything. I could not do any more than that, and nor could the players." Spain World Cup winning coach Vicente del Bosque and Barcelona's Pep Guardiola are the other contenders in running for the prestigious award. Mourinho was also critical of the selection committee's decision to pick Andres Iniesta, along with Lionel Messi and Xavi Hernandez in the players category. The trio's selection meant there was no place for Inter Milan's Wesley Sneijder who also played in the World Cup final in the summer. Mourinho said: "If the winner is Andres Iniesta, who unhappily was not able to play for the first five months of the year because of injury, but after that played six matches and scored a goal in South Africa, then anything can happen in the year of a World Cup final and the rest counts for nothing." The winners in both the player and coach categories will be announced in Zurich on January 10.

Nadal betters Federer for charity Rafael Nadal gained revenge as he beat Roger Federer 7-6 (7/3) 4-6 6-1 in the second of two charity matches. The Swiss came from behind to claim a victory in Tuesday's match in Zurich, which raised US$2.6million for the Roger Federer Foundation. But on Wednesday's it was the Spaniard's turn in Madrid, and he duly turned on the style to claim the honours, with the match supporting the Fundacion Rafa Nadal. There were plenty of exhibition shots on display in a match which was closely fought until the third set, when the world number one ran away with it, to the delight of the home fans.
