Question: do you guys think Karlie won't walk the VSFS anymore? She was an angel for such a short time, that part of me thinks she might because it's not like she was 'in too deep' with the brand the way Doutzen/Miranda were (both angels for 6 years?). Plus there wasn't any bad blood between her and VS.

Watching the swim special now. Has it occurred to anyone that Martha looks like Meredith Blake from the Parent Trap?

The way they are hyping this swimsuit thing it better DELIVER. Anything short of amazing will be a massive failure. Hope it lives up to the hype! Although it irrationally irritates me when VS toots its own horn so much. Calling models all the swim models 'supermodels' is a stretch. Adriana, Candice, and Ale are the only ones that come close to that status.

Where does Miranda live now btw? NY or LA or Australia?

She looks so happy!!! I'm so happy for her. after working so much she deserves to have fun at carnaval! Also, she ALWAYS delivers with VS work. When does Candice ever look bad in a VS shoot? Literally one of the most consistent models they've ever had. This is why she's had so much longevity with VS. You can tell that they have an iron fist around her and will never let her leave the company. This puts her in the ranks of Ale/Adriana who VS knows are their golden girls.

Wow, I'm happy to see VS do something so different! All new models in a single commercial! They look great, and it's nice to give the current angels a break from the public eye. And can I say, it's SO refreshing to see more than one WOC and brunettes outnumbering the blondes. Yay!! I sound like a devil, but I'm glad Martha and Stella weren't included. The hot blonde position has already been filled by Elsa, no need for more. The commercial line-up is perfect. I would have used Gigi instead of Romee, and Josephine instead of Kate G., but whatever. That's just me being picky. It's very very clear that VS is gearing up to introduce a whole new generation of models. Seriously, once Adriana/Ale/Candice leave...what will happen? The answer is this. Smart of VS to begin introducing the new models into the company.

To be fair, they did try with Barbara, but something clearly went astray. She was definitely destined to be the next big thing and she got a lot of hype, but it took an unexpected twist. Keep in mind that Gigi just started working for PINK and already has an event. Her career literally blew up a few months ago, so the timing is just right. She is at the perfect stage to be groomed. Kendall is a whole other animal. I don't think VS has their eye on her at all because they see her as too much of a celebrity, and/or they're unimpressed with her modeling ability. They didn't even ask her to attend castings. I'm not saying Candice/Miranda/Rosie were stars all at once, but you can't argue that they had something special about them, that eventually allowed them to become stars. The potential was there. This is how I feel about Gigi and Elsa (and had felt about Barbara). I don't get the same feeling with the other girls in the swim special.

Yes, but all those girls had very specific traits that made them stand out in comparison to the current angels. Can you say the same for Martha, Jasmine, Josephine, Jac, etc? Miranda was perfect for VS because of her bubbly, charming disposition (lol, my how things change), and the fact that she photographed really well and won fans over in the 2006 VSFS. The angel line-up was missing that cutesy, hot girl-next door and Miranda gave that. She was also the first Australian angel ever, which of course generated a lot of press. Candice was a sexy, captivating, exotic bombshell from day one. Love her or hate her, you can't argue that there isn't any other model as stunning as Candice at the time. She immediately stood out the moment she hit the VSFS 2007 runway and in print work. She won the public over from the get-go. Rosie was immediately well liked for being the first British angel, her sex-appeal, and charisma. She was probably VS's biggest loss in my opinion. Erin, in my opinion, wasn't very successful as an angel. She always felt like an extra. Lily started being a good angel recently, after her modeling improved a lot. She is definitely an exception. IMO Candice/Miranda/Rosie are eons above models like Jasmine, Martha, and Stella who aren't as well rounded. They don't bring anything new that is lacking in the current line up. Yeah they're hot, but they're forgettable. What VS needs now, more than ever in our social media age, is STAR POWER. I'm not saying celeb models, but models that will have mass appeal (like Adriana/Ale/Candice/Miranda) or industry status (like Joan or Jourdan). I doubt the current public would give 2 shits about any of the other girls in the swim special. They blend together. Joan stands out, and that's probably the reason why she's the only model put with the main angels for various scenes.

The hair color/style is aging her. Also, the make-up makes her skin look very dry. I miss long haired brunette Rosie. She should go back to that look. Her current blonde has been played out in my opinion.

If VS wants to create press by signing new angels, why the hell would they sign all these relative unknown models? If they wanted to get in the media they should be signing girls like Gigi, Jourdan, Joan, or even Kendall (lol) that have some fame and would create excitement. What excitement would models like Martha or Jasmine generate by being signed? haha I remember when Karlie was signed it created a lot of press and was a big deal.

I may be in the minority, but I think women like Nina Agdal, Irina Shayk, Joan Smalls, Jourdan Dunn, Gigi Hadid, and dare I say it....Chrissy Teigen would help give VS that much needed 'punch'. The line up right now is SO stale. Back in 2004 we had Tyra, Gisele, Heidi, Adriana, KK. Now we are between models like Josephine Skriver and Martha Hunt. Umm......

I know!!! It's crazy! This is what happens when the industry only cares about being stick thin and bland. You get models that look super young and vanilla. This is why VS has shifted too. It's the fashion industry as a whole.

I think it started when they added Lindsay, Erin, Chanel, and Rosie all it once in like 2009. I don't know who exactly was responsible for that. Rosie had that womanly look and was a great fit, but the other three stood in STARK contrast to the 'sexy' and 'mature' image VS had before with the likes of KK, Gisele, Adriana, Tyra, Heidi, etc. That was when I truly noticed that something was up. They continued this trend when they signed Karlie, and began working with exclusively HF models. There are many factors to be honest. First, it has to do with the fashion industry itself. Back in the early-mid 2000s the top models were all very unique, womanly, and sexier. You had girls like Daria Werbowy, Stegner, Stam, Adriana, Gemma Ward, etc. Vogue US September 2004 pretty much sums it up: Note the progression: Vogue US May 2009 Vogue US September 2014 (you can barely tell these girls apart) Nowadays it's all about blander girls who are young, stick-thin, and will not stand out. SI is the only serious brand that uses models who still have that mature, womanly image that the fashion industry used to have.

I like Cindy but she doesn't have the personality/aura for it. Honestly, the market of models with angel potential is so low right now. No one truly truly stands out as a potential angel. Elsa was a great addition, and I think the line-up is fine with just Adriana, Alessandra, Candice, Elsa, Behati, and Lily. Let each girl get her share of work and fame, rather than dilute everything with another 6 girls with no longevity.

Honestly, I'm happy about Karlie leaving. She has a lot going for her and doesn't fit the VS image anyway. Good luck to her! Better to leave at a high than a low (the girl just got a US Vogue cover for crying out loud!) This intrigues me as to who will be the new angels. In the span of a few month VS lost 3 angels (Lindsay, Doutzen, Karlie), so new girls are inevitable. Please please let it NOT be Martha or Stella. Elsa and Candice already fit the hot, sultry blonde angel role. Martha and Stella bring absolutely nothing. They are perfectly fine as working VS models, but not full-fledged angels. I personally don't understand why VS likes Martha so much. I'm excited to see Gigi working for PINK. If anything, Gigi probably has THE most potential of any current model to be a kick ass angel. She's at that point in her career where it's really beginning to take off, and VS should swoop in and get her before it's too late. Not only does she have the look (blonde bombshell with a killer, curvier body), but she has the personality, is American, and has ties to celebrities (mainstream appeal). She's a perfect candidate, and I think VS knows this. PINK angels should be Taylor Hill and Gigi. Perfect combo. They would both transition nicely into mainline. VS should finally sign Lais as a main angel too. For now, I think they should keep Jasmine, Jac, Stella, Josephine, and Martha on the back burner, and judge reaction to their VS Swim thingy. Also, what the hell happened to Sara (with regards to VS)?! She still shoots for them, but she doesn't seem like she's in the running to be an angel anymore? Or else, I'm sure they would have included her in the VS Swim thing. There was no legit reason as to why she wasn't used. Shame that her and Elsa started around the same time, yet VS is showing Elsa way more love.

I saw Bee yesterday! Just wanted to say that she was super nice. I congratuled her on all her VS success and she was super humble about it.

At the last minute! haha All it took was her smile to distract me Regarding Solveig; I didn't really get to talk to her. She was a bit boring, but seemed friendly.

BELLAZON EXCLUSIVE! Hey guys! I went to the SI event today and met virtually every model in this issue. Here's my review/feedback on the girls I met (with pics!): Sara Sampaio: we played Connect 4! It was great!! We spoke for about 7 minutes. She was the most down to Earth, humble girl ever. Super super nice. Wish her a lot of success. Chrissy Teigen: I know she gets a lot of heat here, but she is beyond sweet to fans and the people around her. She was SO lively and honestly had the most energy of any model I have ever seen. she's basically hilarious and super open. I ended up being a fan. Emrata: Really nice! Can't complain. She wasn't super super friendly but very amicable. Lily Aldridge: She was nice, but she seemed kinda 'over it'. Kinda disappointed because she used to be much friendlier. Hannah Davis: not good. She was sweet but seemed really 'detached'. Like she didn't care what you were saying and acted a bit like a diva throughout the whole event. Granted she is the cover model, she could have been much nicer and open. Especially at a fan-oriented event. However, I will say that she was STUNNING. She truly is very very beautiful. Chanel Iman: Sweet. No complaints. Gigi Hadid: Really nice and made herself available to everyone. As always Erin Heatherton: ehhhh...she was a bit 'off'. I would talk to her and she literally would not pay attention to me lol. When she did she was super 'fake nice'. I'm kinda disappointed, but oh well. She definitely didn't seem like she wanted to be there. Hailey Clauson: she was sweet! Really friendly and open. I told her she would be ROTY and she smiled and said "I hope so!" Irina Shayk: Very detached. She wasn't too friendly at all. Rose: Sweet and friendly! Feel free to ask about others! I didn't get a chance to have too much contact with the other models, but I did see them at the event.

It would be cool if we could all make our own 'dream covers' with our fave pics from this issue. If I was an editor, hands down Nina would have gotten the cover. Gigi and Emrata were close seconds. Not only is this memorable, but she looks sexy and is also doing the 'pull down' like on Hannah's cover, albeit in a tasteful, in control way. The colors also pop a lot better. (my edit)
