  1. Nice. I've been looking at early 90s Escada catalogs on eBay but they are so expensive.
  2. Yasmeen Ghauri was the greatest supermodel of the last twenty or thirty years for a number of reasons. Yes, there were other girls from that era who were exceptionally beautiful but it takes more than that. Yasmeen had an aura of other-worldliness, a sense that you were seeing a beauty that in a by-gone age, men would have invaded a country for. Classical and timeless. In addition, her no-nonsense, pragmatic attitude towards modelling was at odds with many others from that time. She gave everything but understood the fleeting, transient nature of beauty and bowed out when she thought her time was done. She understood how fickle the world of fashion is and used it to her own ends. The fact that she has stayed out of the limelight and the celebrity circus in the years since she retired from modelling only makes her greater in my opinion.
  3. Damn. Thanks Sanja. She looks amazing.
  4. Thank you.
  5. That's a lovely one. Thanks.
  6. Great pictures. I wondered about the scanner though. It has really bad color banding. I'm not sure it can be fixed. Sometimes it's just the software but often it means the sensor is failing. I used to have the same problem and had to buy a new one. Thanks for the pictures anyway.
  7. Nice.
  8. brazilianaffair, thanks for the Escada one.
  9. I just had my Next Directory Autumn/Winter 1988 shipped to Japan this last week. I took it to an Imaging Service in Osaka and had them done on a flatbed A3 scanner at 600 ppi. The image box hosted photos are roughly 2-3 mb each. The original images in the separate dropbox link are full resolution (between 27 & 35mb each) - I hope you like them. The other model in one or two photographs I would have to check on. The photography, editorial and makeup credits listed at the back of the catalogue list dozens of people so it’s impossible for me to say who is responsible for Gail’s work. You’ll also notice that one or two pages actually still have the swatches of cloth attached to them so that people who wanted to order the clothes could get an idea of the material. I did toy with the idea of using Content Aware Fill to remove them but figured they would give it a more vintage touch to leave them in. There is also a Stephanie Seymour section that I’ll get around to at some point. A very young Uma Thurman is in there somewhere too. These images of Gail Elliott only ever appeared in this catalogue - I’ve never seen them anywhere else. I’m going to buy a flatbed A3 scanner sometime in the future because the cost of paying a company to do it is quite expensive - plus I think I can get better results at home where I have more time to tweak the images, adjust levels etc in Photoshop. If you want the full 600 ppi images they are in the Dropbox folder below. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/111b1kyw7z8vtqo/AADrcqoZObO74Y7rkTnL66UKa?dl=0 Regards
  10. Is that Marie Claire 1988 on eBay?
  11. Thanks Sanja, I knew you'd deliver the goods.
  12. Specdude, do you have a scanner? If so, there is way to separate the pages without damaging the magazine.
  13. yup, that's Vogue UK january 1992, by Sante D'Orazio....don't recall the title of the editorial at the moment though, would have to double check for that No worries. Thanks again.
  14. The set of four street shots, I don't suppose you can recall the magazine and year of publication?
  15. Thank you. I hadn't seen the Walter Chin shot before. One day, I'm going to find a way to scan something with either Yasmeen Ghauri or Gail Elliott that's super-high resolution - big enough to frame on a wall.
  16. Thanks.
  17. Is the attachment the actual size? that's the size it is on D'Orazio's instagram Okay, thanks.
  18. Is the attachment the actual size?
  19. Thanks, Spiral. A very timely post too - given today's news.
  20. Thanks, Sanja. She looks amazing in the polaroid.
  21. That Alessandra guy, the photographer has one of the most hopeless, utterly unuseable interfaces I've ever seen on the web. His pictures are great but whoever designed his site hasn't got a clue.
  22. That's really kind of you but I took the link down. You are the first and only person to even contact me. Sorry, but I don't think it's likely it will happen. I've had no respnses at all (except for you). Thanks again for lending your support.
