Just a correction. I didn't mean them in that order. I just started with famous past and ended with the biggest recent. No offense to Adri fans putting her last. If I wanted to really list them... ....I would put it Gisele/Adriana (very close) , Ale, Ana. So once again I didn't mean any disrespect to Adri fans or anyone. I rarely list with a meaning, it's tip of my tongue usually.

wow. I just found out about this game. Sounds cool. Thanks Julia and Joe for nominating Iza for team Brazil. The rules seem a little complicated. Was there a reason Iza wasn;t nominated for face. If not, and she wasn't already I'll nominate her for that. And how about Heidi for Team Germany (face)

They do kind of go in cycles. Brazil will always be the top for me though. But you're right, I have noticed that trend lately. We shall see what the future holds.

Yeah, KK is awesome. As I said she and Gisele complemented each other perfect. Remember the 2005 opening. The look KK and Gisele gave each other. Ooh la la on vsholic shoutbox put it best. It's like they're saying "Let's show them how it's done". Angel has become a watered down term. i think that at most 6 should be the limit.

^ correct. And that Iza stuff wasn't insulting. It was her choice to leave. And it truly shows that she has abitions and doesn't want to stall her career. But if you think, that was always around. The tiers of Brazilians. It used to be Gisele, Ana, Ale, Adri. And for 05 and 06 Iza was in 5th. The reason why I'm surprised (I knew when push came to shove, VS would keep Ale and Adri over Iza due to seniority, and as far as Selita like you said, she 's the only black Angel. What surprised me is this: As you said the past models are getting old (still look smokingly sexy, but you know what I mean) Sad to say, Ale and Adri won't be with VS forever. VS needed to have a newer brazilian to fill their spot. I think that's what they originally intended. They need to start getting new angels broken in. But as you said, Iza chose to break her contract. VS wasn't giving her much at that time and she didn't want to sit around waiting. She has ambitions. Now it might be possible that in due time, perhaps VS might resign Iza (anything is possible). We shall see what the future holds. But no matter what, we have to have faith in our favorite models and in VS that they will all make the right choices. Even if that model and VS don't always go together.

Yeah, Tyra's like the future ruler of the world. Is there anything she can't do? She just backed down so nobelly and then you see others stay to the bitter bitter end.

yeah, Marisa was one of their better choices. I won't start on the topic of how stupid I think it was for them to get rid of Iza, but at the same time why so much promotion with Selita. (I like Selita, but I don't know why she's gotten so much more press). Now I'm probably a little biased here, but hear me out, I think I make a good point. Selita and Iza started at the same time. But Iza was more on top than Selita. Getting wings everytime, closing segments, being in the opening segments. And then they lose Iza and keep Selita. But more than that, she wears the fantasy bra in 07. ??????? Why? I mean I would say she wasn't there long enough to get it, but since KK got it in 02 I can't really say that. But KK was big, Selita not so much. I hate to say this (and I don't mean this racistly) but it seems like they gave Selita the bra becasue she was the only African American angel after Tyra left. But still, that goes with my point. If they felt like they needed someone to fill Tyra's spot why make her an Angel, instead of someone like Oluchi or Naomi who did tons of VS in the past. You see my point? I guess I just really miss Tyra. She brought such an unstoppable force to the runway, and I'll always love her Flamenco segment opening in 2002. Anyway, just to finish my point on SI. Some might say SI models should stay with SI. But think of this, if that was so, we wouldn't have Tyra, Heidi, and a bunch of others. A lot might say VS can really propel someone's career, but SI always gives the popularity a huge boost. Having VS and SI is a great combo.

^ That's probably really it Mich. The original Arch-Angels all brought something new: Heidi (as you said) - the healthy image of a model Gisele - the curvey model (diferent than the stick models like Kate Moss) and she started our obsession of Brazilian girls Tyra - first African American to get SI cover. They all had that same healthy, sexy, curve look to them. And they were new at that time.

What I don't understand is how the Angel grouping got soo off course. I mean, not that the new girls aren't good, I mean, KK was really rising fast and wore the fantasy bra in 2003 eventhough I don't think she was an angel yet and by 2005, and 2006 her and Gisele were like counter parts. They went great together. And from show like 2002(I think) yu could see how the leaders of VS loved Adri and were so proud of how she grew up before their eyes. And Ale even trained one of the new girls (I believe 2003). Then she was the PINK spokesmodel, which never really went anywhere as far as her being part of the line in the show. I mean KK, Adri, and Ale are famous, but I don't understand why they haven't been taken to a higher level. You know what I mean. Now some would say because they didn't do as much branching out as the others, ad maybe that's it, but that question I don't have an answer for. But these new "media focus girls" Selita and Miranda for example. You always hear the media talk about them and want to hear what they think, but they haven't really done as much as some of the others. For the record I'm not bashing them or saying they don't deserve it. For example, I love Miranda and I'm so glad she's an Angel, but I don't understand why she's in the lime light more than some of the others (probably Orlando Bloom). Now I know Adri dislikers etc. will say what about her, she got a lot of press this year, ... but that's my point. One second the media is hooked on Adri, the next Heidi, the next Selita, etc, etc, etc, now Doutzen and Behati. We need a more centered Angel Force. I just have a feeling that VS knows this deep down inside and that's why I say the ranks are shaky. We shall see what the future holds.

No, I see what you're saying. I'm of course an Iza fan, but also an Adri, Ale, Heidi, etc fan. I'll be objective. When Gisele was with VS, it wasn't like she was Heidi is now for one huge reason. BALANCE There were the 3 Arch-Angels: Gisele, Heidi, Tyra They were perfectly balanced and complimented each other. They had huge runway name and/or editorial names (such as SI). Everyone knew them, and those who didn't were introduced to them during AAA Tour. VS never had to say "these are our lead angels". Everyone knew they were. With Tyra leaving in 05 and Heidi's 06 absence it was like Gisele was the leader. (Eventhough that was far from the case) The media just had to go with something. Then Gisele left, and the media is like "who's the lead angel" (which was a misconception from the start) There was even a point when they said that Ale was approached to be the lead angel, but she said "the angels are all equal, and have no leader". But that wasn't good enough for the media. Then when they saw Heidi back they said" oh boy, they have a leader again" (they didn't get the picture that there is no leader). Since Heidi is one of the original Arch-Angels, the media will always believe she's the leader. It's the same idea of why there is so much misconception about who's an Angel ....it's the media. In summary: It's not Heidi's fault, it's the media. Heidi has so much stuff on her plate, she doesn't need to hog the VS spotlight, it's the media. What VS needs to do is have another AAA tour, where they introduce America to the "new Angels". But as far as that...I think the Angel ranks are a little shaky right now...so if anything we might see that in a few years.
