Mido played soccer since he was a little kid.He started at an unknown club in Cairo then moved to Zamalek before he reached 10. At Zamalek Mido began a new stage in his life..he played for all youth teams in Zamalek and Coaches of different youth teams used to fight for him as he played for the teams older than his age !! And Mido was always the top goal scorer in any tounament he played in..he was always a star. Known in Egypt Mido wasn't greatly known in Egypt before he played with Zamalek's A-Team..he was then 17 and Ottophister Zamalek's Coach gave him chance in 3 games and Mido didn't waste his chance as he scored 4 goals and proved that he is a great player. The press then said that a new star is born. To Belgium Mido decided to leave to Belgium as he found himself no place in Zamalek's lineup. He got a contract in Kaa Gent of Belgium as he impressed them with his talents. And in less than a Season Mido was a star in Belgium and well known all over the world after scoring 11 goals in the belgian league and becoming one of the best players in it. Mido got two prizes in Belgium..1st was "Discovery of the year" in belgian league..and the other was "The best african player" in the belgian league. Then many clubs negotiated Mido like Udinese,Arsenal,southampton and Anderlecht. It was obvious that Mido will go to one of the last 2 mentioned but he surprised everybody signing to the mighty Ajax of Holland.
