Kerr, who appeared in the store's most recent catalogue, has reportedly signed a three-year deal to replace Gale as the shop's fashion ambassador. The ink is dry on the contract, but no one is confirming fashion's worst-kept secret. David Jones did nothing to quash the speculation when asked to officially confirm the changing of the fashion guard on Friday, instead issuing a coy ``no comment''. Gale has done a great job as the face of David Jones over the past seven years. She was as eye-catching as ever for her final strut in Melbourne. Unfortunately, her evening was ruined with a blow-up at the post-event drinks function between her and David Jones publicity boss Ann-Maree Kelly. This is a weird article. It says Miranda is getting closer to being the new face of DJ but the people commenting says it more likely would be Jennifer Hawkins. Miranda Kerr is firming as the favourite to replace Megan Gale as the catwalk ambassador for David Jones. On Friday, David Jones' general manager of apparel, Colette Garnsey, declined to confirm the Victoria's Secret model would fill Gale's shoes, after she made her final catwalk appearance for the department store on Wednesday. She would only say that an appointment would be made in due course. "Up until now we've really been focusing on this season, our last one with Megan, and I think that is something to worry about in the future," she said. However, it is likely an appointment will be made in the coming weeks as the retailer prepares for its new season catalogue and summer collections launch in August. Gale will continue as a brand ambassador for the retailer. Myer's marketing and creative director, Paul Bonnici, said Kerr — who would go head-to-head with Myer's glamour girl, Jennifer Hawkins — would be an "interesting" appointment. "I think Jennifer is probably a lot more well-known than Miranda. And Miranda has also been an ambassador for Portmans for a couple of years, so she will still be known as the face of Portmans, so it will interesting," he said. Kerr's contract with Portmans ended recently and she appeared in David Jones' latest catalogue. I don't think Sean Penn is going to the Oscars he wasn't nominated and the few awards his film did get nominated for weren't for him. He always goes to the Oscar parties, every year. Not my business but this is just an off hand opinion James Blunt, Sean Penn...these guys seem to be using her as arm candy. There's been lots of stories about Penn's ex-wife recently being linked to another actor and all of sudden Penn starts party hopping with Petra. Interesting timing.

^She sure does have a thing for unattractive short guys with questionable lifestyles. She and Sean were also at the CAA pre-Oscar party together. Hope they're just friends because he's a well known cheater like Blunt. He's a great actor though.

I don't think Orlando's going to advance her career. He's no Leonardo Dicaprio who happens to be a better model talent scout than most agencies. I expected Miranda to be doing more work, more magazines and major ad campaigns. Maybe there's something in the woodwork and this is the calm before the storm.
