  1. Yes, the written word has a great impact on many people lives, for instance the Canadian tennis player, Rebecca Marino recently retired due to online harassment and abuse, and of course you have cases such as Amanda Todd who is an extreme and tragic situation. However in defense, many people need to stop being so damn sensitive and just step away from the situation, (obviously not always possible, but generally it's the people who keep going back and reading the same shit that have the issues). Keeping in mind, that nameless person behind a monitor somewhere else telling you that you're lame, or stupid, or ugly doesn't know you, and if the situation gets to such an extreme, common sense would dictate that you simply leave. No one is forcing anyone to stay around and deal with the comments. It's like going to a party where you know you're going to be mocked and abused, stupid. Anonymity has taken over the internet with things like /b/ and 4chan leading the charge. Faceless hackers who attack people with impunity, with very little real life consequence. I guess the point I'm trying to make is that you take the risk when you go online and start speaking with a bunch of strangers. And that's what everyone on here is, no matter how many personal, pertinent details we share about ourselves, we are in essence strangers. Trolls are becoming more and more common place, not necessarily because they're trying to hurt people, but because the Facebook generation expresses itself differently then the older generation, and their expression quite commonly comes across as very juvenile. Meme's and .gifs are becoming more common place because emotion, and sarcasm quite commonly cannot be expressed adequately via text. So the whole idea of being a bleeding heart for every negative comment, or "mean" picture is laughable at best. You're setting yourself up for heartache and a headache. The quote learn it, live it, love it definitely applies to this as does, let it go and move on. Social media isn't going to change in the near future perhaps we need to evolve our outlook and take steps to alleviate the situation. Answer: Because this is the i-n-t-e-r-n-e-t, and people have opinions (both positive and negative) and like to share them? Better late then never: Welcome to the Internet, please enjoy your stay, and if the butt-hurt gets to be too much... no one cares
  2. Not sure about the should have had... she wasn't their best marketable bet. Maybe with the Carl's Jr/Hardees ad, she'll become more recognizable to the buying audience but it's a no brainer on who got the cover. Biggest name, solo never before done location. I'm not sure why anyone thought that they would give the cover of the 50th to a girl who isn't guaranteed to sell.
  3. Don't like it when people call you on your shit do you. This is why you play nice when you're new.
  4. So you did lie.. If you lied about that.. what else have you lied about. I am so lost now. I don't know what is true and what isn't. This is a sad day for Adriana's thread.
  5. no... you're location, under that pretty little picture beneath your name.. says ROMA. that's not speculating.. o.0 derp?
  6. But you're location says Roma... LIES
  7. Damn you Dave... stop correcting me! Roma, Rome.. Wasn't it said that at one point if you said Roma that the city would fall down because it was her secret name or some shit? I vaguely remember that from some history book. Silly superstition lol.
  8. Which conversation wasn't I a part of?
  9. You are loved in return MissLima... but I'm sorry I think smt93 called dibs on Adriana. They're already set.. they have a floor plan and they've let it be known that they wont share. btw smt.. sarcasm isn't necessarily common sense.. It's a statement made that is ironic or a sneering/cutting remark. They're two different things, but that's okay. You're from Rome, I don't expect English to be your strongest suit.
  10. zomg, you caught that I was human? Well gosh golly geeze, I'm shocked and awed that you figured it out. And here I thought I was being so stealthy and sleuth like.. Sarcasm, learn it, love it, live it.
  11. lmao that was common sense and basic business... you frighten me.. but hey that's cool, you're more then welcome to follow on with your stalkerish tendencies. Any more floor plans you want to share? And there's no we... damn, you're not willing to share? That's fine, pictures, just make sure you take lots of pictures. I'm a huge fan of bondage.
  12. I'm only saying these things because I love her... I will be with her one day, it's written in the stars... and my diary with my own blood. We'll be together forever.. and always.
  13. Why.. are we even attempting to post pictures of Adriana's house/floor plan.. seriously... that's a little stalkerish. Just saying. Are we planning a coup to kidnap Adriana and lock her in our basements.. only to convince her we love her and that we're doing it to protect her? I mean if that's the case that's cool and all, I have some duck tape, and I'm sure I can rustle up some handcuffs and silk rope. It should only take a few weeks for her to realize that we're only doing it out of some fanatical psychopathic love and that when we start to dismember her it's because we love her.
  14. Oh... My... God... I love this place. It's just as crazy as Bar's thread but twice as funny.
  15. Okay, to break this down. Let's say Adriana signs a contract with VS for 2 years, for 5 million. Once the dotted line she will not be given additional money for any appearances she makes. The contract she just signed covers the main show, promotional events, catalog appearances and any additional uses VS may have in regards to their company and it's marketing. That is for a general contract. There are as Dreamss said beauty contracts which are a separate contract. So in the case of Adriana becoming pregnant, (or any other girl for that matter) they are in essence taking themselves off the roster for VS to use as they choose. It's a losing venture in money for the company and it's something they will doubtless only put up with for so long before they start looking at either dropping the contract denominational amount when the original contract is up, or not resigning altogether. This is common sense, anyone who has ever dealt with contractual agreements, or taken any type of business class should know that. Once a contract is signed it doesn't get renegotiated, which is why there are clauses usually intergected by the company in order to protect their assets, (in this case their is probably a body clause. Heidi Klum had one, and she talked about it. Stating she was not allowed to change her body, which is doubtless part of what lead to her initial phase out from practically all but the fashion show, and the company not resigning her, (yes, yes I realize her age and the fact that she had been with the company for 13 years probably also factored into this.))
  16. Just gonna throw this out there, but none of us have any accurate idea what any of these girls are making, we're going on hearsay based on what "credible" websites say. Regardless, Adriana probably pushed herself to get back into shape so hard for the VSFS because I highly doubt a company, which pays her an astronomical amount, (regardless if it's 2 million or 10 million) is going to be willing to just casually sit back and allow one of their lead girls to miss ANOTHER show. I don't know for certain, but I think it's a fairly safe bet to assume that as a panty pushing lingerie model when you sign a contract there's a nifty little clause to keep your body within a certain sphere of per-requisites, ie. runway/photoshoot ready. Now pregnancy obviously falls outside of that sphere, but in the past Victoria's Secret has clearly been a good sport with it's countless models who are starting families and moving forward in their personal lives. Really, that's being quite a good sport on their end. But the bottom line come the end is it's a business, and if you're not working you're not earning your paycheck so why would they be interested in resigning. Obviously conjecture, but it makes quite a bit of sense. Thank you for the clarification! ^^ and I'm sure they earn more depending on special events and how much they sell
  17. I'm not trying to be rude here, or belittle anyone's intelligence, but... 50th year anniversary, first fashion shoot in Antarctica EVER, only one model goes... leaked pictures of Oreo and previous blonde cover model. You want to make a bang, make history, you go with your biggest name of the year, most spectacular never before done location and free advertising of Oreo's 100 year anniversary leak. If they couldn't put two and two together I'm thinking the model stereotype on intelligence is just a little bit true.
  18. It's hard to reconcile the girl who comes across as a little goofy, and yet sweet and down to earth with being a bitch. Not to mention, how much time do these girls actually spend together on the shoots, (considering her main shoot was in Antarctica with none of them) and the body paint isn't all done on the same day. However I can see where some jealousy would stem. You have veterans like Anne V and Julie H, who have been around for years and have yet to receive a cover, versus this seemingly bouncy blonde who not only gets an insert her first time in the magazine but then goes on to get not only 2 covers, but the coveted 50th anniversary edition cover. So, without saying what her personality truly is when the lens isn't on her, there's bound to be jealousy. Not to mention you can be the sweetest person in the world and still clash with someone's personality. Not everyone meshes after all. But that story is cropping up everywhere now, it's been gathering steam all night.,
  19. Okay first off all yes your stomach can grow in a week, Pretty has pictures that I've sent her to prove it, but I'm not going to dredge those up because to be perfectly honest I don't give a shit. The part that humors me more is that the first "pregnancy scare" I remember this thread being massively cleaned up and everyone basically told to hush up, we weren't allowed to talk about it because it couldn't possibly be true and we couldn't in any way shape or form possibly hurt Adriana's feelings, (obviously she wasn't pregnant and we were calling her fat.) It's nice to see how far this thread has gone, we can now have some open honest debate, that's fantastic. <3
  20. Too risque of a reputation? Her body can not be the issue.
  21. I was actually basing it off the popularity of Jeisa's SI video on youtube that year, which surpassed all others in views
  22. Appealing to a bunch of women (ie. Victoria's Secret) is completely different then appealing to a bunch of men.
  23. o.0 Ya'll have some interesting ideas on what North Americans want. Did you notice that most of the high fashion girls they've brought in, last roughly a year and don't sell well. They keep trying, and keep failing, perhaps there's a reason.
  24. Kate Upton describes her body ‘shutting down’ after freezing Sports Illustrated cover shoot: ‘I was losing my hearing and eyesight’ Upton may have achieved greatness with her second SI cover, but she came back 'very, very sick' from her arctic excursion. Baring it all isn't easy. Just ask Kate Upton. With her latest gift to mankind, the chilly Sports Illustrated cover to end all covers, Upton says she felt the brunt of her work when she got home. "It was freezing. I had frostbite when I came back. I was worried about my body,” she said in an appearance on the "Today" show. “My body was shutting down because it was working so hard to keep me warm." It wasn’t just the long hours - Upton boldly went where few models have gone before - to Antarctica, where she braved the coldest temperatures on earth. Upton said she was “very, very sick. I don't think you can go to Antarctica and stand in a bikini without that happening. But I didn't die, and I'm OK now." "We should name a passageway after her down there," said M.J. Day, an editor for the magazine. "She braved six days in a bikini while we were head-to-toe in jackets ... No one will ever accuse her of being a whiny model, ever." This year’s shoot featured models in on all continents, and cover girl Upton was their choice for Antarctica. "It was freezing," she said. "I'm from Florida, so it wasn't easy for me.” Needless to say, scores of men around the world appreciate her sacrifice. http://www.nydailyne...ticle-1.1262948
