What?!?! No Sara Sampaio in this year's SI Swimsuit issue? This is an outrage!

That's kind of odd. I would think they would love the free publicity of one of the top models of the world wearing their brand. If anything, women visiting this site would be more inclined to buy the suits after seeing them online. strange.

Ok, so i have just received my copy and am impressed as usual…great issue. However, I didn't want to say anything until I saw the issue to confirm, and now that I have, I'll give my honest opinion. After seeing the issue, I do not think that Kate Upton was a good choice for the cover. At all. She is a beautiful girl/woman and I actually I from what I've seen she has a cool personality, but that photo is lame. Forget the fact that it looks so touched up and photoshopped (is that really Antarctica in background or did SI call George Lucas for some tips on using a blue screen??) This is the SI SWIMSUIT issue…the stuff of legend. It comes out in winter in the US. It's supposed to be herald in the SUMMER. Part of what made SI sooooo much better than magazines like Maxim and Playboy is that the photos were very natural… the scenery was just as beautiful as the models, sometimes even more so. The cover in my humble opinion doesn't do the franchise justice. It looks like it couldn't been for Maxim or FHM…not SI. Again, I think that Kate Upton is absolutely gorgeous and nothing personal against her, but I feel that because she's become SO HUGE in the US, SI put her on the cover because they would probably sell more magazines. She has become a household name/face with her many TV commercials and the doogie video, her appearances in GQ, and now in all of the Hollywood gossip columns. Kate sells magazines, pure and simple. However, there are so many stunning and in my opinion better shots of others in the magazine…Emily, Cintia, Irina, Alyssa, Anne V, Chrissy, Nina, Julie, Ariel and others that surely one of those could have made the cover. Again, just my opinion. Congratulations Kate on your second consecutive cover. SI though... I think you may have sold out.

God I love Cintia Dicker… sigh.

I am just wondering, assuming that she is in the SI Swimsuit issue this year, do you think this would hurt or help her chances on being in the issue or even possibly the cover? In the US right now and pretty much all of the media is saying how that was amongst the worst super bowl commercials of all time. The SI Swimsuit issue is a tradition here, so I'm just wondering how this will affect it (if at all) if she is supposed to be in it this year.

Seriously, I don't see what's the big deal. I just saw the clip and i think in the interview she was just trying to be kind of funny, perhaps even a bit sarcastic… I don't think she was trying to insult him personally. I mean, she is Bar Rafaeli… she dated Leonardo DiCaprio, one of it not the most desirable man in the world. Obviously given her current age and status she wouldn't normally go out with a guy like that. Of course, in 20 years if Walter takes his tech company public, becomes a billionaire, he'll be able to get women better looking than Bar. By that time, she'll be old and most likely out of a job … so she may be the one to consider a "nice" guy like him. He on the other hand will probably have more options than her…living in Latin America, this happens all the time. I see it everyday former hot models who after 30 start to lose their looks going after these older, wealthier, usually not very good looking guys. The older guys confidently strut around because they know that they can get many women like this due to their money and status. And for them, it's an even exchange. They get to have young (relatively) beautiful woman to wake up to, and the women get financial security and stability. Is it right? who knows. Is it superficial? Probably. Is it true love? I'm not their to determine this. Does it happen all the time and is reality? Absolutely. I hate to say it, but in the long term, if guys get their act together, they ultimately win the dating game in this perspective. Just my quick opinion. Let Bar say what she wants…she got paid and Walter had is fun and 15 minutes in the sun. who knows, this will probably help his acting career as "that guy from the GoDaddy commercial" and maybe he'll get spots in movies. I mean, look what happened to that guy in all the "Mac vs PC" commercials from a few years ago (I forget his name). He went on to be the lead in the movie "Accepted" with Blake Lively and Jonah Hill, which actually was a hit. Life goes on and wish them both the best.
