I think that's changing. I know many young American guys that will take large boobs/ass over a stick thin girl. This is the ONLY site I've ever seen where men claim to like skinny girls. Guys are really visual and if a girl looks 'straight up and down' boyish what is there to be attracted to? What makes a women any different from a man if they have no curves? Most young guys like Scarlett Johanssen and she's very curvy. It's biological if you really do any studies on it. Men were born to prefer curves. The fashion industry just has a lie going on that skinny is somehow attractive, when it's the complete opposite. Back in the day, if we were to meet Adriana in person, I'm betting she was freakishly thin. Most models I think "man they have attractive faces, now only if they had a body, they would be really hot" Who wants to feel-up a skeleton? Not to mention, under weight women don't live as long, get sick more often, can give birth to a deformed baby, and can have all kinds of health issues. Who would want to risk a relationship with an unhealthy women? This is why I think 'some' men might like to look at a thin women but they want a relationship with a curvy women of normal, healthy size.

The few that post here might like skinny but you are definetly in the minority. I looked at the link. The Gemma fan that likes anorexic women only...that sounds like an unhealthy fetish. And that is even more rare. This is why, men's magazines only show curvy women that have nice boobs/ass/hips. HMN and Maxine for example. I know some guys that can't even stand to see a women's collar bone sticking out they are soooo turned-off to thin women. I've heard many men say, sexually speaking, a curvier women is nicer to hold...the guy won't hurt themselves on her jutting bones. They don't want to have sex with a women that looks like they might break.

Almost every guy that has ever talked to me has told me that. Also there are discussion forums all over the web where guys admit to prefering curvier women. Maybe the ones who come here don't fall into that category but the majority of men don't like skeletal/skinny women...that's just obvious. But there have been studies done that show women often have misconceptions that men prefer them skinner than what they are! As a result women have more problems with anorexia and will compare their bodies more often and mistakenly believe that the thinner women is what men like when in fact, scentific studies show that men will pick the 'curvier women' as the more attractive one when shown a picture. Here are some discussions boards where men compare skinny vs curvy and you will see that curvy wins out 100% Most men do not like the stick figure women on the run-way....it would be like taking a skeleton to bed...gross! http://gatewaynet.netscape.compuserve.com/..._home_Thu_04_03 http://uk.answers.yahoo.com/question/index...24072440AAL4ohk http://www.womanspassions.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=173 http://www.progressiveu.org/230819-skinny-v-curvy-girls http://prweb.com/releases/2006/11/prweb483982.htm http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qi...16092603AA0nlIy There ya go! There are also scientific studies showing men prefer hour-glass women. Also ask any guy out on the street "do you prefer skinny or curvy women???" And 98% of men will respond "Curvy"!!!! When I say curvy, I'm talking "scarlet Johansen" curvey. Most guys like a women they can touch with-out feeling bones. I've always thought that women were supposed to be curvy. That's part of what makes them different from men

Really?? She looks the skinniest in that pic. I noticed that only females seem to be attracted to skinny bodies. In that pic, her legs are very thin and she looks 'staight up and down" She looks the most boyish in that pic. Most men would not find that attractive. I don't know any men who are attracted to skinny women. Most men don't want to have sex with stick-like skeletal women who have protruding bones, which is why men are attracted to curvy hour-glass shape women. If you look in any men's magazine (Maxine..etc, the women are all really curvy and healthy looking) I personally think she looks better in the pics where she's a bit curvier. Although really, her body looks the same in every pic. If there was a weight gain it's VERY small. She almost looks equally skinny in every pic. But if a man had a choice between a skinny model and a curvy women, they would pick curvy every time. It's women that seem to think Skinny looks good or that 'the skinner the better' Look how everyone freaked when she finally started to look like a regular person with a healthy body.

Actually the photo that was posted of her on the runway, way back when she was super skinny does a good job proving she isn't pregnant. A case could be made that she was pregnant there as well since her stomach is sticking/jutting out as equally as what we see now. It's just her body. And I agree, it's a hard piece of muscle. If she were really pregnant the bump would show only on her lower abdomin. Her entire stomach from top to bottom slighly sticks out and that's ONLY on pictures shown from certain angles and ones that haven't been air-brushed. For all we know, her stomach has probably always been like that.

I love Adriana's current weight. Her body is exactly like mine now. She looks great in the red swimsuit. Not too skinny, not too large.
  7. melvaughn replied to Neo52285's post in a topic in Adriana Lima
I agree. I think she is at her hottest at her current weight. She's moving into the league of Tyra, Heidi in terms of her body. She no longer has to be anorexic thin with bones sticking-out to be attractive and she looks much better for it. Now people can't complain that she's too skinny or give her a hard time about looking like a 12 year old boy. (which I've heard plently of people once say about her)
  8. melvaughn replied to Capt Snow's post in a topic in Ana Beatriz Barros
I see, but she still seems to have WAY more female fans than males. Seriously, I noticed when I go to the Marisa Miller page its 95% men and when I come here it's 95% female posters.
  9. melvaughn replied to Capt Snow's post in a topic in Ana Beatriz Barros
Does Ana have any male fans on here? I noticed only females seem to leave comments/post pics on here. At least there are more female Ana fans than males....the Alessandra thread is similar. Models like Marissa Miller and Josie Maran are full of male fans who post like CRAZY. Then I come here and there are only females that leave comments about her. Just my observation.

People can really only speculate on the height of these models. The numbers floating around the web or on their modeling sites are rarely accurate. No one would know for sure unless they met or asked the models in person. Like I said, Petra Nemcova was not 5'10" when I met her in person even though that is her recorded height on all her websites. I'm 98.9% confident that Adriana would not be 5'10" either in person. (except when wearing heels of course)
  11. melvaughn replied to Neo52285's post in a topic in Adriana Lima
Remember that modeling agencies always add an inch or two to every models height. I would take off an inch from all of these numbers for accuracy. I met Petra Nemcova who is suppose to be 5'10". I'm 5'10" in my barefeet and she was shorter than me. We were standing side by side as well since I talked to her for close to five mintues. Modeling agencies love to exaggerate models height and will always add an inch or two. I also know this from a friend that modeled for Elite in Toronto. They had her down as taller than what she actually was.
  12. melvaughn replied to Neo52285's post in a topic in Adriana Lima
Of course, but for her to say "no I don't think I'm sexy" sounds a little bit ridiculous, especially for someone that poses half naked with a sexy pout in 80% of her photos. I mean, who is she trying to kid? She doesn't have to brag and act like she's the most beautiful women in the world but at least just say "thanks" instead of pretending to be average. But I guess she wants to appear humble.
  13. melvaughn replied to Neo52285's post in a topic in Adriana Lima
Well I have a friend who is 5'10", 140 pounds and she is extremely skinny. You can almost see her ribs sticking out. Your personal weight experiences are obviously VERY different from mine. I'm 5'10" myself and weight 138 pounds. (I have absolutely NO fat anywhere on my body, I'm incredibly small boned. A size 4 waist) At my current weight of 138 my body is almost identical to what Adriana looks like now. Same stomach, hips, legs, etc. We have a very similar body-type. I'm often approached by modeling agencies at my current weight because I look very thin. I constantly get "Oh you're soooo skinny" on a daily basis. People regularly guess my weight to be 120 pounds which is WAY off. I was 126 at my skinniest and it looked disgusting. I didn't look healthy at all. Adriana right now looks healthy. People have different levels of bone mass and can indeed weight more but appear skinny. People assume models or people who are thin must weight 115-120, without taking the height into account. This is simply not true. Heidi Klum, Gisele and Tyra all weight around 140 pounds. What's to say that Adriana is any different? I seriously doubt that Adriana is currently underweight. If she is really 125 pounds she isn't even slightly underweight but enormously underweight (I mean off the charts underweight) according to the BMI. She looks far from underweight at the moment. At 125 pounds she would look a hell of a lot skinnier than what she is now. I haven't weighted 125 pounds since I was 13 and I was straight up and down (no curves)...considering Adriana now has curves, I highly doubt she's only 125. For Adriana's sake I hope she is not underweight. Underweight people can run into all kinds of health problems and usually don't live as long. I'm still guessing her BMI to be around 19.5, which is still on the low end of the chart. Women who are tall can weight up to 150 and still look practically anorexic thin!! And the number on the scale is insignificant anyway and doesn't really tell you much about what you're body is going to look like. It has to do with preportions and whether or not you look good. A person who weights 115 pounds can look a lot heavier if they are out of proportion. Likewize, a thin person can weight a lot but look very skinny. It depends on the person. The number on the scale can be deceiving. But I still don't think Adriana is currently underweight. I do believe Adriana was once underweight which is too bad since it can seriously damage your body and life-span. If Adriana is really 125 she IS underweight (her BMI would be only 16 which is VERY underweight for the average person. Your BMI has to be 18.5 to be considered normal) I guess all the comments that 'oh she's soooo fat" can go out the window if she is really underweight (only a mere 125 pounds, which seems ridiculously thin)
  14. melvaughn replied to Neo52285's post in a topic in Adriana Lima
I agree. I noticed that really good-looking people always like to pretend they don't think they look good. Anyone who looks like that is going to KNOW they're good-looking. She walks down the run-way with confidence because she knows she's sexy. She poses the way she poses because she KNOWS she's sexy. For her to say otherwize, is ridiculous.
  15. melvaughn replied to Neo52285's post in a topic in Adriana Lima
According to the BMI, if she were really 114 pounds, she would be extremely underweight and unhealthy so there is no way that's accurate. At 5'10" she would only be considered a healthy/normal weight at 130. Anything below this and she's underweight (according to BMI) which scientifically calculates the body fat, by measuring height and weight. People use the BMI to calculate whether they are underweight or overweight(obese) I'm guessing, Adriana is between 130-140 pounds which is still very thin for someone whose 5'10". http://www.nhlbisupport.com/bmi/bmicalc.htm As you can see, even if you type in 120 pounds in the chart for a 5'10" women, that women is considered underweight for her height. I highly doubt Adriana is underweight which means she must be between 130-140. Even at 130, she is at the low end of the chart, meaning at 130 pounds she would still be VERY thin. I'm guessing she's closer to 135. The thing about being tall, is that you can weight quite a lot and still look very very skinny. I also question if she's really 5'10" as well. She only looks 5'10" in her three inch heels. I've seen a few pics of her standing in her barefeet and she looks no taller than 5'8"/5'9". I know modeling agencies LOVE to up the height of the models by an inch or two. If she were really 5'10", she'd be 6'2" in her heels and she has never looked that tall in heels, but closer to 5'10" in heels. The Prince is only six feet tall and I've never seen her towering over him when she's wearing her heels which makes me think she isn't as tall as people say. Also, if people remember the pic of her standing next to the Asian actor? Her head was only a few inches above the Asian actor who is only 5'6". I'm guessing she is 5"8/5"9. I even met Petra Nemcova, whose supposinly 5'10" and she didn't look as tall in real life....their heights are always exaggerated. Adriana has never 'appeared' tall to me. At least not in comparison to the tall people I meet in real life who are truly 5'10/5'11". Ana Beatris Barros is the one model whose height I think is accurate, as in she actually looks as tall as 5'11".
  16. melvaughn replied to Neo52285's post in a topic in Adriana Lima
She's just not sucking in her stomach in that pic. She no longer has a naturally flat stomach. VS pictures are so air-brushed that she always looks different/bigger whatever in her normal photos.
  17. melvaughn replied to Neo52285's post in a topic in Adriana Lima
I always thought Adriana seemed 'pear-shaped'. Actually, most models are thin pear shapes, and this body type is naturally more attractive to look at than the 'apple shapes'....pear shapes are closer to the hour-glass ideal. I wouldn't say that Adriana is even slightly 'rounded' in anyway. Her weight gain seemed evenly distributed. Even her theighs wern't as stick thin.
  18. melvaughn replied to Neo52285's post in a topic in Adriana Lima
The BMI (body mass index) is the formula used to determine a healthy body weight due to height. An underweight BMI is 18.5 or less, normal is 18.5 - 24.9, overweight is 25.0 - 29.9, obese is 30.0-39.9 and extremly obese is 40 or higher. Marilyn was 120 lbs so if you were to make her 6 feet tall and keep her weight they same her BMI would be 21.5 which would still be considered healthy. Heres a link to a BMI chart if anyone is curious...: BMI Chart I looked at the link you provided and if you calculate height and weight yourself (which you can do at the bottom of the screen) you will see that the BMI for a 5'10" women who's only 120 pounds is VERY underweight. Their BMI is only 17. Anything below 18.5 is considered underweight and unhealthy. Most of the models who weight 120 are considered very underweight. Underweight people do not live as long as those in the healthy BMI range. 5'10" and 130 is considered a 'healthy' BMI. And even at 130 pounds, you're at the low/thin end of the BMI...only 18.7. At 140 pounds and 5'10" you're BMI would be only 20, so still low but at least in the healthy range. If Marilyn Monroe had really been 6 feet and 120 pounds, she would hardly be alive her BMI would be sooooo low. (around 16..which is off the charts) She would have been anorexic. Here's another BMI link where you can calculate how much you weight yourself....Most people are in the healthy range, but models are not. I would say Adriana has a healthy BMI. I'm guessing her weight is between 130-140 which is still considered thin, but healthy. Anything below this and she would be considered under-weight according to the BMI, which can cause heart problems later in life. Of course if you're short (5'3") and 130 you're still in the healthy range but up on the high end (23). You'd probably look very plump. The thing about being tall, is that you can weight quite a lot and still look very thin especially if your small boned to begin with. http://www.nhlbisupport.com/bmi/bmicalc.htm

I also think it's great she's filling-out body-wise. Now people can't complaint that she looks like a 12 year old boy (which I've heard frequently) as an excuse for why they think she's ugly. I think her body is looking the equivalent of Tyra's and Heidi's. She's reached that kind of curviness at the moment. It's like she's taking over their 'place'.
  20. melvaughn replied to Neo52285's post in a topic in Adriana Lima
I likewize know a few really hot virgins. My friend is a model for Elite in Toronto and looks like a cross between Elisha Cuthbert, and Petra Nemcova and is still a virgin at 23. I also have plently of overweight, unattractive friends who get laid on a regular basis. That's the thing about being a female. You don't have to be good-looking to get laid. So yes, it all comes down to choice, morals and whether you've met the right person or not. Looks play maybe a 10% role.
  21. melvaughn replied to Neo52285's post in a topic in Adriana Lima
She's just as thin in these pics as she's always been. I see no difference in her body than any other pic of her in the past. I also don't think her weight fluctates as rapidly as people seem to think. In certain pictures, outfits, poses, dresses, she may appear heavier, but to be a model, her weight would have to stay consistently the same. There is no way her weight could fluctuate up and down so fast, which leads me to believe her weight stays consistent. I know I can appear either bigger or thinner depending on what I'm wearing and the photo. She has a set body-type and bone structure which is not going to change that drastically. She will always be thin.
  22. melvaughn replied to Neo52285's post in a topic in Adriana Lima
I know many people who say Adriana's body looks like a 12 year old boy. Or a prepubescent body with boobs. They are probably actually jealous, but it's amazing how often I hear people say that Adriana is plain, not curvy enough, and too tall and skinny. Duh she's a model! But these comments come from both men and women who seem to think the curvier the women the more attractive and they think Adriana does not measure up. I personally think Adriana is curvy (my body is very similar) but to each his own. Everyone has different tastes. Example: This was posted on Female First forum, discussing Lima- "Boring and overrated. She's about as curvy as a 10 year old boy. She's barely a looker without her makeup and has enormous buck teeth. She's thin as a rail too." Another poster in reponse to this said- "ha ha. Spot on" Found on this link...... http://www.femalefirst.co.uk/board/viewtop...asc&start=0 Many, many people find her VERY unattractive for some strange reason. I think thin model women appeal more to Women then Men. How many fans of Ana Beatriz Barros and Ale are Women vs Men? It seems a lot of the stick thin models on here for example, have 10 women fans for every one or two male fans. Most men are checking out the women with larger boobs and butts......
  23. melvaughn replied to Neo52285's post in a topic in Adriana Lima
I agree. Most models, based on their looks alone and the environment of the modeling world, are not going to be intelligent, down to earth individuals. For most models, their outer appearance is the main importance. Modeling is a kind of 'acting' and I think Adriana puts on a 'good show' for the camera while it's running....kind of a "I love being the centre of attention" kind of thing, yet this doesn't mean she isn't spoiled or bratty. Adriana is 'use' to being doted on, plain and simple. This kind of lifestyle won't develop character in most people! I would be very surprised if she wasn't spoiled! Adriana is a 'fantasy' but as for the real person, I think alot of people would be disallusioned by the reality of her personality. She reminds me of the type that is all smiles while the camera is rolling but has a complete other side to her.
  24. melvaughn replied to Neo52285's post in a topic in Adriana Lima
It wouldn't surprise me at all if Adriana acted spoiled and bratty. If everyone dotes on you all the time, night and day, it would eventually go to 'anyone's head. I bet she expects a lot to be handed to her on a silver platter. I like Adriana as a model but I can picture her being kind of 'annoying and prissy'....like "here I'm, kiss my feet' <_< She just has that 'air' about her.
  25. melvaughn replied to Neo52285's post in a topic in Adriana Lima
I don't think she's gained weight at all. It's a combination of the angle she's standing, the design of the dress, not to mention the camera adds weight. I think she's looks better now with a more 'normal/healthy weight then super skinny.
