Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bundchen, 31, has signed a modeling contract with the woman’s underwear brand, Fidelia, said CJ O Shopping, a TV shopping network. Fidelia is a private brand launched by a smaller Korean firm, Donggyeong Mode, 10 years ago.
Starting mid-May, Bundchen will model for eight months in Korea for Fidelia brand products, which will be sold in Korea and Indonesia. Bundchen is reported to have received one billion won for modeling .
She has been ranked the world’s top in earnings in 2010, according to the American business magazine, Forbes, in its latest issue. The Brazilian beauty earned $45 million (about 49 billion won) last year.
Victoria’s Secret saw a great increase in sales of its lingerie when she was its main model. Sales of a shampoo produced by P&G, the biggest household item producer in the world, went up by 40 percent in Latin America with her celebrity endorsement. Bundcheon is one of the few models who can model not only for luxury goods like Bulgari but also for household goods.
A spokesperson of Fidelia said the brand’s underwear seems to have won her heart. Bundcheon brought with her the lingerie she last wore for a promotion shoot in Los Angeles last week. Although they were samples, the model was quoted as saying, “I like them very much.”
