June 4, 2012 Gisele visits Green Nation Fest On this Monday morning, June 4, Gisele kicked off the celebrations for the World Environment Day. During her first activity in the country, our Goodwill Ambassador visited the Green Nation Fest, a festival that uses cinema, education, sports, fashion and interactivity to talk about the environment and sustainability. Her first mission was to plant the first of a 50.000 trees used for the recovery of degraded region in Rio de Janeiro. Soon after, Gisele visited some facilities and was able to experience a fire in the forest, as a result of climatic change; she also visited a cold environment, which imitates a glacier with icebergs, and watched as the scenery collapsed as a result of thawing; she also had the opportunity to "feel" what is like for a family that faces a flood and having their home flooded. To top it all, the supermodel rode a bicycle to generate energy. Phew! The tour around Boa Vista lasted 45 minutes, despite the warm weather. Gisele won a trophy made of pet bottles composed of 70% of water, which will also be distributed to the winners of sustainable projects that are participating in the festival.
