Oh, I hadn't seen that photo of them in Paris. I thought they'd kept their distance from each other during that event. But yeah, in any case, they seem to have grown apart a bit. I liked their videos together; it's a shame they stopped their channel.

The Joja project certainly wasn't a huge success, but I don't think they lost money, or at least not enough to make her have to sell the house and move. I don't think that was the reason. But I still find it quite odd that they moved after all the effort and Josephine's apparent excitement about how the house renovation was turning out, didn't look like a temporary home, just for a little over a year or two.

I noticed this and also suspect their friendship may be on the rocks. In the latest post on Joja's account, there are a few comments asking if the brand is finished and others asking for a restock, but no response from the official account or from Josephine or Jasmine. On social media, they haven't been seen interacting (no likes or comments) with each other for some months, although they still follow each other. But what makes me most suspicious is that they were not seen together despite being in Paris for fashion week, even coinciding at the same event, such as "Le Grand Dîner du Louvre" or one on a more personal level, at Taylor Hill's birthday party in Paris, but even so there isn't a single pic or video in which they are seen together, which is quite strange if we consider that they are (or were) very close friends. I hope they remain friends, but it certainly wouldn't be the first friendship to break down due to the friction of starting a company and working together.

    Candice is there as well.

I find it strange that they sold the house so soon after finishing all the work they were doing to make it their own. Josephine frequently shared the progress of the work, the materials she wanted, the decorative objects for all the rooms, she seemed truly excited about it, it seemed like it was the house they were going to live in for years, to raise their children in. And actually it looked nice and cozy. I don't know, I find it strange, maybe they received one of those offers that is so good you can't refuse, I can't think of any other reason without knowing their personal lives. I have to assume they still live in LA or at least she would be interested considering the company (JOJA) she has created with Jasmine, who we know for sure lives in LA, so that would make all much easier.

If all the photos are from the same period, then they are from the Rio Carnival 2020, late February. The first outfit is the one Alessandra wore at that time.

Maybe you're right, but I don't know how Adriana's body, especially in her early years when she was very thin, could be considered more voluptuous and curvy than those of Laetitia, Tyra, Heidi or Eva Herzigova just to name a few of some of the most iconic models of that era.

If we are now to believe that Adriana was also a curvy model at some point in her career... I love Adriana, she's my favorite model ever, but that doesn't mean I have to buy everything she says as if she were a divine being. She has had, like almost all models because that's how the industry works, quite a few moments of being a bit hypocritical.

And not even only Vogue US and Anna, other major editions like the UK, Italian and French ones don't like them either. They don't like VS (or SI) models, they have always preferred the more "elegant" image of the haute couture catwalk models to those of VS and I'm not even defending this at all, but it's obvious that this has always been Vogue's preferences, even though each edition has its own editor, they are obviously influenced by the image that the Vogue concept is supposed to sell. You only have to look at the list of models who have appeared on their covers, despite being much less popular than VS icons like Adriana, Alessandra or Candice.

Of all the things I thought could be controversial, I never imagined that calling this woman white would be one of them. I'm not even going to argue with that, I'm too sick of all these discussions about ethnicities and perceptions of each. Adriana was always called exotic in a good way, her beauty has always been accepted and celebrated worldwide since practically the first day of her career. Talking about Adriana as a victim of racism is disrespectful to models who have actually suffered racism, not because they haven't been given a Vogue US cover. If you don't see models like Adriana on Vogue US covers, it's because not every model gets that cover and there certainly aren't many women who look like Adriana because she is an extraordinary beauty.

Yes, Irina hasn't had a Vogue US cover, but despite being 5 years younger than them, she has more Vogue covers than Adriana and Alessandra combined. And she's even a good example, Irina didn't start having real success in Vogue until she left Sports Illustrated. Vogue people don't like SI, they don't like VS, they consider it cheap. There are some exceptions, but they are very, very rare and always more towards this high fashion type of model. I feel like Adriana (or Candice) has always been seen as too sexy for Vogue. In any case, I don't think Adriana has been the victim of racist prejudice, at all. She is white, she has some exotic features, but she is white, latina. But in Vogue US you have had Rihanna, and there is no one more exotic than her. Or Joan Smalls, a latina supermodel. Or Penelope Cruz, who has several covers despite being a dark-eyed, brunette latina. Maybe many years ago there was a certain prejudice, but towards African or Asian models, Adriana's beauty has always been widely accepted. It was the beauty of models like Adwoa Aboah, Adut Akech or Liu Wen who had the hardest time until they were accepted because their beauty is not as conventional as Adriana's.

When you look at the list of models with the most Vogue covers, including those of Vogue US, it's easy to understand why Adriana or Alessandra have never been on it. It is definitely not because of racism, nor has Candice ever appeared in Vogue US despite being a very conventional white, blonde, blue-eyed woman. Vogue, not only in the US edition, has never really liked models who made their careers linked to VS. I've always thought that this has limited Adriana's career quite a bit, as well as Alessandra's or Candice's, in terms of what they could have achieved (even more, I mean, they've had great careers). But hey, they were aware of it and the contract with VS definitely compensated them very well financially for it. In the case of Vogue US, there is also the fact that it has never been just an exclusive cover for models, but for a host of celebrities such as singers, actresses and athletes.

Videos are posted in the "motion" section, so it's better organized that way.

To me, it's clear that she's had something done to her face, aside from obviously losing a lot of weight. I think it's at the very least logical to wonder if she's had something done to her face because she looks like someone who has, indeed, had a bichectomy. This should not be understood as hate, nor controversial, nor should it offend anyone here.

I don't mean this in a confrontational way, but isn't it allowed to comment on how she looks in her appearances? Respectfully, obviously.
  16. borg replied to Neo52285's post in a topic in Adriana Lima
I don't know, her face looks a bit plastic to me. I think she looked better and like more natural in the pictures and videos in Paris. Now it's like she's undergone some kind of buccal fat removal procedure. She looks better than she did a year ago and the weight loss is very noticeable, but there is something about her face that makes her look very stretched and her cheeks sunken.

    She looks so good!

Judging by her last story, posted 1 hour ago, she is in Paris and wanting to let people know it since she has barely used her social media in 2024. Maybe some work in her role as FIFA ambassador for the women's football final? Plus, Brazil (against the United States) is playing the final tomorrow at 5pm. The men's final is today at 6pm.

I quite agree tbh. I think Adriana had a pretty nice send-off to VSFS (especially if you compare it to Alessandra, who may not have been as iconic as Adriana for VS, but it was very disappointing considering all the years she was in VS, wearing the FB twice and so on), a stage was closed, I don't see the need to open it again. There are more opportunities to see Adriana, other brands and more other than that of a lingerie model, which ended up limiting her career a little bit and pigeonholing her as if she couldn't do anything else

Victoria's Secret is bringing back the fashion show, they announced on Instagram with a video starring Candice, for this fall. Maybe all the workout Adriana is doing is for her to come back? I'm sure the show will be more inclusive with women of different bodies and ages, not like before. So I genuinely believe that there is a chance for models over 40 or even 50 years old to see them again in VS, like in that campaign they did 2 years ago with Adriana, Gisele or Naomi. In the video there are references to the wings of angels, so the concept of angel returns (good news) and it is to be hoped that models who have been angels will return, in addition to Candice, who is officially going to be in the show. Adriana would make sense because of what she represents for the brand as VS's most iconic angel, so we'll see. Another one who I would bet is going to be there is Taylor Hill, who has not stopped working with the brand even though the brand stopped doing the show, unlike other models of her generation like Romee or Josephine.
