2009 SI Swimsuit Issue
^ I don't think Brooklyn and Marisa are really that similar at all. But she seemed cool hosting last year's behind-the-scenes special, and she has the sporty-yet-voluptuous thing going, so she would make a good covermodel.

Good Lord, sweetandlow, you deny that you were making insinuations and then proceed to make more of them. How sad.

Me, have a website? I don't get along well enough with computers for that. Well, I would hope that the issue has been printed and shipped by Monday, if the issue is getting released on Tuesday. Or else the people in charge of SI are guilty of some rather poor planning.

2009 SI Swimsuit Issue
It's funny that you talk of lack of class when you yourself are willing to stoop to such insinuations. Yes, we know you want Tori Praver on the cover. There's no need to disparage the kind of models the public wants to see in order to try to validate your opinion.

2009 SI Swimsuit Issue
I was saying basically the same thing in Marisa's thread the other day. But you don't even have to go back all the way to the 90s - even the early 2000s had far more star power. I wonder if it's coincidence or SI's decision that no previous covermodel is appearing in this issue. Anywho... SI.com linked to a site that offers betting odds as to who will get the cover. Brooklyn is the clear favorite.

I wish SI would set up their own poll like this one. It would be interesting to see the results on who people that actually go to the SI website think is the sexiest SI model ever. Clearly Marisa is the favorite by a wiiiide margin in this one.

2009 SI Swimsuit Issue
^ No one has any way of knowing. Any list like that is probably just guesswork for now. Perhaps the 20th "model" isn't a model at all It's going to be you on the cover, isn't it, Pink?

2009 SI Swimsuit Issue
^ I hope not! It would only cheapen the achievement of getting the cover if 19 girls (or any more than two) were suddenly calling themselves SI covermodels. :| If there's going to be a surprise, I think it'll be that SI is holding back the real covermodel - who's going to be one of the more established models SI has, like Selita or ABB - just to mess with us. After all, there were 20 models last year but only 19 so far for this year, and it's just too suspicious that Selita and ABB are suddenly not in the issue.

Askmen has an interview with Marisa up on their website:

If you mean less mainstream in terms of fame rather than physical appeal, I don't think the SISE has been exactly packed with mainstream models for quite awhile. In years past, you could have models like Laetitia Casta or Josie Maran make multiple appearances in the issue and still never get the cover because SI had more big names than they had covers to give. Now though, with Marisa and their other stars gone, the only models SI has to give the cover to are models who would never have had a chance at it back in like 2002. That all said, I'm still half-suspecting Selita is getting the cover and SI is just holding her back from promotion as a surprise. Sorry if this is all off-topic!

^ I read somewhere that the early buzz was that the cover was going to Jessica Gomes, but it's only her second year and I had no idea anyone even noticed her the first time around, so her getting it sounds kind of ridiculous. But apparently the promotional stuff SI is doing - including dressing up a plane, a la VS, for flying in to Las Vegas - is split between a number of models so it's hard to see if anyone is getting favored.

As I said in the thread in the General Babes section, perhaps Marisa finally got the cover and decided to leave on a high note. But maybe she'll be back for future issues. Better Irina than Ms. Dicaprio Bar.

Might as well post 'em... Cosmopolitan (US) - March 2009 I'm sure everyone can see who scanned them. Some interesting info in that article. Marisa's designing a swimwear line, only got into the SISE because another model chickened out, and Griffin was using a pic of Marisa as a wallpaper before ever meeting her.

2009 SI Swimsuit Issue
After watching some of the vids, I have to say this "Who will get the cover?" thing is really gimmicky when only four or five models are probably in the running for it. Also, Esti looks too young... like alarmingly young... as in 12.

2009 SI Swimsuit Issue
Are you joking or have you really changed your mind and now, all of a sudden, S.I. is trashy? Just curious No, I don't think SI is trashy. I was sarcastically teasing Ophelia considering she always acted insulted at the thought of Cintia participating in anything non-HF, especially VS.

Which model will be on the cover of Sports Illustrated 2009?
They should give it to a model who doesn't need a famous boyfriend to get noticed.

2009 SI Swimsuit Issue
I doubt it. I'd assume seven consecutive years was enough and so it was time to bow out on a high note. But then again, Selita is an Angel too, and she's mysteriously absent now. With ABB out too, maybe SI is distancing themselves from VS. I just realized Jeisa got cut.

No Marisa in the SISE this year. Can't say I'm surprised. But a little disappointed, yes.

2009 SI Swimsuit Issue
Pshhhh. So she has red hair. But SI has always had variety and new faces each year. VS is what needs freshness. But I vote for Brooklyn getting the cover if the Jessica Gomes rumor isn't true. The biggest new surprise for me has to be Hilary Rhoda though. She's so HF that I never could of imagined her being in the SISE. :|

I'm surprised ABB isn't in it this year. Not surprised about Marisa though, since last year we knew weeks ahead of time that she was in it again, but had nothing to go on this year. Don't pretend you're not about to commit suicide that Cintia is in something as trashy as SI.

^ Great pic! Where/when is it from?

Slumdog Millionaire
I agree. A lot of people are predicting it will win Best Picture, but c'mon people, it's not that good. I'd rather give Wall-E Best Picture if it was nominated.

Last movie you saw...
^ Did you see "Che"? Del Toro's good in it, and it's an interesting movie. I only saw the first part of though. Recently... Defiance = Good The Reader = Great (Winslet better win the Oscar) Happy-Go-Lucky = Blah
