Poor Daniella, Jessica W. Anne V., etc. It doesn't bode well for their covermodel aspirations to get passed over for a third-year model. At least ABB got out in time to be spared the insult. But is anyone else stumped by this being Jessica White's sixth issue, yet she's listed as only 21? I'm no math whiz, but something seems a bit wrong there. :|

Half the models are doing the beads-over-their-breasts thing too. SI is really running out of ideas.

Hilary looks hot in that video - especially lying on the couch in the orange and white bikini. She's one of the few "keepers" from this year's rookie class.

I think it's too hard to say. Marisa had such a break-out year and I don't think it would have happened without both the Angel contract and SI cover, because they were kind of the one-two punch she needed, with her events as an Angel giving the press numerous occasions far beyond February to remind us all she was the 2008 SI covermodel, which usually doesn't happen. Bar could have a great year, but without her own one-two punch, she won't have the year Marisa did.

I have to say I'm disappointed. There are definitely four or five models that need to go, most of them rookies. And the vets were mostly "blah." I'm leaning toward Jarah Mariano as my favorite this year. This pic of her is interesting:

I kinda feel the same, it looked better LQ... Count me in on this bandwagon. For a model who can look as exotic as Bar can, her face in this cover is rather plain-Jane. And she doesn't really have much of a stand-out shot this year from all her photos.

It's your standard SISE cover. But if SI does its usual thing, there's going to be a much hotter shot of Bar within the issue itself that will leave fans going, "Wait, why wasn't this one used instead?!" I wouldn't say it's cheap-looking - it's kind of like the Tyra cover.

Didn't someone here who met Marisa describe her as nothing but boobs and ass?

As for the article Pretty posted, it's kind of surprising to see that SI will be using all their models for promotion as opposed to pushing only the covermodel, as in years past.

If these are new, I guess we're not getting anything new in terms of the individual photo shoots. Bikinis on a beach. I was hoping SI would get a little more creative with the set-ups, like when they had Marisa and that other blonde model in Iowa or Laetitia in Africa.

No, I meant Pinkie too. Anywho... I've seen Marisa mentioned on one Grammys best-dressed list so far. She's one of the ten or fifteen women most sites seem to be focusing on.

Just a pair of HQs from HB @ celebutopia so far... You know, you would think Marisa would have appeared at the Grammys before now considering she's married to a guy who works with some big names in the industry.

I think that's a bit too simplified of an approach. SI is a business, obviously, and the model with the best photo (which is so subjective anyway) might not be the best model to go out and promote the issue. I mean, if a model took the greatest photo ever but is a bumbling idiot in interviews, she probably shouldn't get the cover. SI needs models who take great photos and can win over reluctant buyers via the promotional circuit, especially considering the current economy.

^ Good points. I'm hoping Daniella Sarahyba is in the running for the cover though. She seems fun, looks great this year, and SI hasn't had a Brazilian covermodel yet. She's paid her dues by now too.

^ I don't think Brooklyn and Marisa are really that similar at all. But she seemed cool hosting last year's behind-the-scenes special, and she has the sporty-yet-voluptuous thing going, so she would make a good covermodel.
