Okay, who speaks Spanish and wants to translate this and other Spanish phrases here for me? I'll trade you a night with Heather! An online translator thing gave me something about cocaine and the desert.

The Race Thread?
It's not weird at all: most of the world fashion capitals -- New York, Paris, Milan, etc. -- are located in countries where whites are not the ethnic minority. So it makes sense that whites are more represented, although I do agree that other ethnicities in fashion are under-represented.

If you could choose to have models over actors in your magazine

Not that I'm trying to turn this into a thread on football, but... I disagree. Look at the playoff game last season between the Ravens and the Colts. The Ravens were constantly backed up against their own endzone and their running play game failed completely. They couldn't get first downs using it and therefore they had to punt and leave the Colts with good starting field position. But compare that to the Colts being close to their own endzone: Manning constantly broke out by passing the ball. Granted, you're right about risking a safety, but with a solid defense, you would like to think getting sacked in the end zone isn't likely to happen. Also, what's a few extra yards for your punter compared to a potential first down pass? As far as I'm concerned, passing the ball gives you a chance, while running it against a defense that's already stopped every other running play is a lost cause, and the Ravens lost because they refused to see that. Oh, and Marisa is hot, too. See? Now it's not an entirely off-topic post.- What makes you happy?
I don't think that's possible, since the Joker has already purchased my services for top dollar.- 100 Greatest Movies of All Time
^ I don't know how on earth you can think Goodfellas was that influential. It was a good movie, but you make it sound like Citizen Kane!- What makes you happy?
^ No being sarcastic at the expense of someone who's smitten with me! It leads to death. :knives:- Marisa Miller
And Ravens all the way, baby! :blueeyedbaby: (They just need to learn that their own one yard line on the third down is NOT the time or place for a running play. )- Marisa Miller
Thanks for the pics, Lady Fatale! ...even if you don't like me anymore. You know she's pointing at you, Ken, don't you? Don't you want "it"?- What makes you happy?

Just remember, the earth is round, so no matter how far you run, you'll be coming back to me eventually. Now if I ever sign up for an online dating service, I know what to put as my general statement. Thanks, Jennka!- If you could choose to have models over actors in your magazine
Jennka! You posted four covers and none of them have Gisele on it! This is a milestone in BZ history so momentous that I'm actually going to refrain from arguing in this thread further (at least for the moment), which means sparing you the absurd comment on actresses' faces being only "thin imitations" of models'. And I appreciate that, because it means I don't have to kill more of my brain cells explaining to sinstinker incredibly obvious things like: you can be here to appreciate more than just models, or what a run-on sentence is.- The Three Most Powerful Women In The World

Condoleezza Rice serves a failed administration in its final months. They've lost respect through blatant lies, illegal activities, and terrible foreign policy, half the party's insiders have turned on it, and it lost control of Congress. I wouldn't put Condoleezza Rice in list of top 20 powerful women. She's nothing anymore. Agree with it or not, a top-3 list would probably include Oprah and J.K. Rowling, being self-made, world reknown billionaires.- Marisa Miller
^ Awesome post.- If you could choose to have models over actors in your magazine
1. So you laud designers, yet it's boring for a celebrity to be asked what designer they're wearing on the red carpet? 2. You support models because they do causes (and I only know of one), yet the celebrity example you're sick of -- Angeline Jolie -- is one of the most famous celebrity activists on the planet? 3. You tell me a Russian model sold fruit as a kid and somehow that means no celebrity ever struggled in their past because Scarlett Johansson didn't? 4. You call celebrities wannabe models when there are more and more models trying to gain publicity by getting in movies and hosting TV shows to gain a celebrity status? 5. You say celebrities want to look like models when the celebrities don't need to because they can get fashion campaigns without actually needing to? (And some models are just plain ugly *see Strawberry Bigmac's post above*) 6. You imply models' lives are exciting because they travel the world when (supposedly dull) actors and celebrities obviously do that too? 7. You say models are so rare and gifted, yet the industry can bring them in by the dozens? 8. You challenge the magazine industry from an internet forum? That was a long rant you gave me, but did you think about what you were saying in it? Clearly you didn't. And I have one last point: I never said models' lives are dull. I only said the interviews were, and that it would be more interesting for the public to hear about making a big movie than walking a runway the average Joe didn't watch and the clothes of which they'll never buy. So please think next time! Got it? Think, then post!- Marilyn Monroe vs Christina Aguilera
Saying she wasn't the best actress or the best-looking is an opinion. Saying she was a "pathetic and ugly slut" is not an opinion -- it's stupid. And if Marilyn wasn't the best-looking actress (which I would agree with), that doesn't make her ugly. And not being the best actress... well, where the slutty and pathetic parts come from that, I don't know. It was just a dumb, useless statement made to bash someone for no reason, like so many other posts I read on this forum. Besides, Marilyn's iconic status was never based on acting skills -- in fact, she was well-known for being pretty terrible to work with -- or even the idea that she was the most beautiful actress of the time, so the criticism is irrelevant anyway. Lastly, I can't even comprehend how someone could call Marilyn a slut compared to Dirrty-video Christina.- Pics on the computer screen

What kind of content did you mean? From the model interviews I've read, it's always the same (uninteresting) interview over and over. Or the editorial's content has nothing to do with the model at all. I guess your mag would go out of business pretty quick. Come back from the jaded, dark side, Heather!- Hilary Rhoda
Like always.- Paris Hilton
Does this mean the BZ staff has officially declared Paris a model? :|- If you could choose to have models over actors in your magazine
Well, in saying what I said, I meant a celebrity on the cover will sell more copies than a model -- and if this weren't true, I doubt so many people here would always be complaining about how celebs have taken over -- so yes, the general public doesn't care as much about models. But there's some truth in models making less interesting content, too. If you asked a model and a movie star about the latest step in their respective careers, it would probably be far more interesting to hear about making that latest blockbuster movie rather than being on the latest runway.- Megan Fox
