they're all different. i really have no idea about there. but does the thought of being judged by a bunch of people sitting behind a table bother you? it would bother most people, i think, but it shouldn't bother a model. if you make it anywhere in this industry, you'll be exposed to the craziest stuff you can imagine. people will ask and even try to demand things of you that you might never feel comfortable with. the first meeting with an agency is nothing to worry about.

if the agency thinks you have potential, they'll call you into their office and have a photographer do up a portfolio of pics. then, they'll shop your pictures around and try to find you work. pretty simple, eh?

dude, you want to be a MODEL. a M.O.D.E.L. what is a model? a good-looking person who advertises a product. so YES, 99.999% of the people who become successful ARE in fact, good-looking. even the quirky high-fashion models still have a certain symmetry or characteristic about their face that, if not traditionally good-looking, is fascinating in some regard. don't photoshop the pics. just take a lot of them, and send the best ones (ie, the ones that don't show your acne as much). it's hard to tell from those pics you posted, but if your acne is significant, then i honestly think it will be an issue for many different kinds of modelling. runway, especially, because the pictures from the shows don't have the chance to be airbrushed. again, look at the male models' threads. there are candids of each of them. how many of those models have an acne problem? i'd bet very very few. a couple of zits, fine. a few acne scars, fine (have you seen brad pitt's face?). but if it's alot of acne, it'll hurt your chances in a big way.

*sighs and smiles* aaaaaaah, the enthusiasm of youth. doutzenambrosio, i think that if you are looking to pursue modelling as a career (and you certainly seem to be interested in that possibility), why don't you take a quit look at modelhommes.com find your way to their forum and start clicking on random guys' threads. it'll give you a sense of exactly what is required to be a successful male model. basically, yes, you have to be good looking. obviously. but that doesn't necessarily mean in a stereotypical manner. if you look at any SUPERmodel, male or female, they are gorgeous, and have a beauty that appeals to a vast majority of the general public. but there are ALOT of working models who have a "strange" or "quirky" look, who you might not consider to be very good-looking in real life, but who come alive for the camera. THAT'S where it's important. in order to be a successful model, of any sort, you MUST be photogenic. the camera has to make you look good, because that's precisely your job as a model. SO, judging from the pics you've posted, it's really impossible to tell. my advice would be to absolutely under no circumstances send either of those 2 pics to an agency. not because they're bad, but because they don't show a CLEAR image of YOU. take some completely plain pics, in your backyard, at about 9AM, with no pose, NO sunglasses, and with as plain a background as you can find in Hawaii (good luck ), then send THOSE pics to an agency and see what they say. first though, you are only 15. no, you're not too young to start modelling. BUT, if your self-confidence isn't developed enough at this point, then trying to succeed in an industry that is solely based on judging every single facet of your appearance = probably not the best idea. try and have a good sense of yourself before you get into this. that's my advice.

i totally concur! i wish i could see KK back in the fashion mags that made her famous in the first place. sure, she's the perfect face for Victoria's Secret, but she started her career as the perfect faced for all of the major design houses, and that's where she belongs. she should do both. it's definitely possible. make her mark in the commercial modelling world, become uber-famous, but still stick to her beginnings as THE top high-fashion model of her time!

the way that Karolina's hips move baffles my mind. she is undeniable. when she walked out at this year's VS show and her shoe came off, she just kept on going and her hips were a swingin' and those LEGS!! wow. she rocks it! so graceful, yet sexy sexy SEXY!

if jessica miller was going to make any impact whatsoever, it would've been a couple years ago. but she didn't catch on at all. has anyone ever even seen an interview with her? me neither. KK is going to be the next supermodel that becomes as famous as the Tyras and Heidis, etc. i have a strong feeling she'll be on the SI cover sometime in the next couple of years and that'll cement it. (coupled with her omnipresence in VS)

I can't remember his name, but in the new Vogue Living magazine, there's a big article featuring KK and her new NYC apartment and in it there's a quote that says, "People always ask me if I'm dating the same guy" and she responds that Yes, in fact, she IS still dating the same man, and has been for 5 years. The apartment is one that they bought together. This would explain why she got teary-eyed on the VS show. She's been with this guy for a long time now.

she's absolutely spectacular and growing on me more and more every single time i see her. her personality just GLOWS so bright! what a wonderfully beautiful woman. i personally LOVE her on the runway. she exudes energy and confidence and i'm sure that's what VS loves about her. (not to mention her flawless features and incredibly magnificent body!) GIVE ME MORE SELITA!!!!!!!

she was DEFINITELY in the 2000 show as well. i'll try and dig up some pics. but as for this show, she absolutely rocked it. wow. she was really the star of the show for sure. VS is prepping her to replace Gisele as the pan-ultimate Victoria's Secret Girl. i lost count how many times they referred to her as "KK". definitely working to increase her public recognition. all she needs is a couple of turns in the men's magazines, and some tv hosting jobs, and she'll be the next Heidi. (only with some cred as well, since she's already had an extremely successful high fashion career). i fell in love with her all over again when she opened the flight attendant segment. wow. astonishing. she handled the shoe situation SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO perfectly. i really was impressed. my mom was like, "OH GOD!! SHE LOST HER SHOE!!!! Oh. ... WOOOOOOOOW! She just kept on going?!?!! How is she walking like that?!?!" haha. it was great. I've yet to see the Scottish themed section. only saw the vids on youtube, so the quality was pretty poor as well. but the flight attendant part was definitely my favourite. loooved it. KK was breathtaking and the music was beyond perfect!

question: i've just boughten a new computer. i have absolutely no idea what codecs i'm going to need to be downloading to view all these files, but right now none of them are playing on my computer. someone PLEEEEEASE help!!!
