Emanuela de Paula is like the new Fernanda Tavares to me... they've got such similar features and that same sultry, sensual vibe. Fernanda has always been one of my favourites! so impossibly beautiful!

i don't know ... she's ALL over the big VS stores here in NYC. literally -- the store on 34th @ Broadway is a huuuuuge store and there are banners of KK literally covering the outside walls. they must be about 6'x25' ENORMOUS. on BOTH sides of the store. advertising for the BioFit bra. and then in all the windows are a ton of pics of her and Adriana and their pics for the BioFit bra.

i LOVED her SI pics!!! and she was SO freaking sexy in the 2003 SI issue. it's a shame there aren't more pics of her up on here. the 2 shots of her from the 1999 SI Swimsuit Issue --- the one where she's covered in sand and the one where she's in the red and yellow bodypaint --- they are 2 of my favourite pics of ANY model EVER. so radiant and sexy!

WOW. i have to say -- i was walking through a NYC subway station earlier today and i saw this magazine on the wall. it literally stopped me dead in my tracks. Adriana looks nothing short of STAGGERINGLY HOT! she is a goddess in these pics!! absolutely so startlingly, jaw-droppingly gorgeous, it's almost hard to express!! wonderful pics!

i was magazine browzing here in NYC the other day and i saw the Vanity Fair Italia with Laetitia on the cover.... she looks absolutely ridiculously stunning in the pics! wow. this is what i wish all the models could look like today. who wants a skinny bone when they could have curvaceous amazingness like Laetitia?

i don't think anyone knows for certain ... but if you check out his IMDB credits, he's in "Eating Out 2" or something -- a campy gay flick.

i think they must've got a ton of response from the last fashion show about how it was just TOO ridiculous and juvenile. there isn't anything about the whole "SEXY SEXY SEXY *making stupid faces* THAT'S HOT *clapping hands in air* YAH! *ditzy laugh*" style that they had the models walking at the show that resembles the sensual, alluring, sultry sex appeal of the catalogue when it became a household name in the 90s. wow. that was a long sentence. but what i mean is that their image has turned young and cheesy, instead of mature and sexy in the womanly sense (*their target demographic*). this is what they're trying to go back to, i think, in their latest advertisements and with all this talk of a new image makeover. Adriana is very well-known and has that sultry way about her, and KK is extremely elegant, and sensual and seems older than she is. these are the attributes that have led to the 2 of them being used lately. they may have gained alot of male attention lately, but it's the WOMEN who are actually buying the product. VS isn't a magazine, it's a CATALOGUE, so it's gotta appeal to the people who are buying, which are women. i just think that women will relate to KK, in particular, easier than alot of the younger seeming models.

yeah, i'm the one who posted that story in KK's thread over at TFS... but even there i commented that it didn't make sense to me at all. i have loved Selita from the start and i presumed that her star is on the RISE, what with her wearing the Fantasy Bra last year, and with her appearances in the SI Issue... i think she's lined up to be a famous household-name model.

i love the both of them. and obviously KK is my favourite, but sincerely from an unbiased perspective, KK just has a much more sophisticated style, whether in street candids or on the red carpet. maybe people prefer the casual sexiness of Ale, but i like the elegance of KK's style. i voted Naomi. visit her thread at TFS, and you'll see why. she's been photographed COUNTLESS times. has done every runway, every campaign, been on my magazine covers than ANY other black male or female in the history of the world, is truly INTERNATIONALLY famous, and is STILL at the top of her game, 2 decades after she started. Naomi = LEGEND. period.

i agree that Bar is totally gorgeous and very much a super hot Swimsuit model ... but if she gets the cover and the fame -- it will definitely be because of her relationship with Leo. (*not that there's anything wrong with that. in this industry, it's all about who you are associated with combined with what you can do. she really IS smokin' hot and looks awesome in a bikini, so if she becomes more famous because she's dating a moviestar, well more power to her. hey, it worked for Gisele*). i think that the cover shouldn't go to anyone who doesn't truly wanna be a supermodel. it was wasted on Yamila Diaz, Daniela Pestova and Elsa Benitez because none of those women wanted to become household names. they didn't want to do all the promotional stuff, the interviews, the hosting gigs, etc etc. that's why Marisa Miller should have gotten the cover years ago. she obviously wants to be a super famous model, and she looks as good in a bikini as anyone possibly could. she'd willingly turn it into a celebrity career. that's when an SI cover can really benefit a girl, when she wants to rule the world! hahaa. I get a feeling Bar would like that. what about Emanuela de Paula! she's almost impossibly stunning and her body is unreal! she'd make a fabulous cover girl. IF she is a good spokesperson.

honestly ... the excitement of the SI Swimsuit issue has, for me, really lessened over the past few years. obviously, they still use gorgeous women -- but SO many of them are completely unknown and unemployed in the rest of the fashion world. they haven't made a proper SUPERMODEL since Rebecca Romijn did the cover in 1999. that cover made her famous. same with Heidi Klum in 1998 and Tyra in 1997. who was on the 2000 cover? Daniela Pestova? Petra Nemcova? (ok -- Petra and Marisa are perhaps the only 2 who've become relatively famous due to their SI exposure -- but neither of them have been able to parlay that success into household name status a la Heidi, Tyra, Rebecca, Laetitia, etc). and as for last year, having BEYONCE on the freaking cover. well, that was just about it for me. i threw in the towel. however, i'm willing to forgive and forget, so long as the SI people start to branch out a bit and use models that are a bit recognizable independently of their ONCE ANNUAL swimsuit magazine. i think that Marisa Miller has worked for them for years and probably deserves the cover. same with Ana BB. but really, both of them have peaked, in terms of their careers. Jessica White could absolutely benefit from landing the cover .. and she's certainly gorgeous enough for it. plus, she's becoming more well-known cause of her work for VS. Selita was in the magazine last year. if she were to land a cover, it could help her become MUCH more famous. and she's a great spokesperson, so it'd benefit SI as well. that's my point --- they need a model who will really help THEM and THEIR image as well. obviously, my vote goes for either GISELE or KAROLINA, neither of whom have been in the magazine. but BOTH of whom look extreeeeemely hot in bikinis and are well-known to the general public as well (especially Gisele, who is practically a house-hold name at this point anyway). i think that GISELE is an obvious choice. she's finished her VS contract, she has arguably the best body on earth, she's very athletic and she's a TRUE SUPERMODEL. putting her on the cover will not only boost her fame and hotness ... it'll add a real dose of much-needed credibility to the SI Swimsuit issue itself. and who are we kidding?? it all comes down to $$$ and GISELE would sell that issue like hotcakes. she IS the money-maker of all the models out there. but GISELE is famous enough. she doesn't really need it. and she's probably past her prime as well. my argument for KK is that she is just now finally starting to truly truly shine as a hot woman. she's only 23 years old (i know, right? hard to believe, but it's true!) she's accomplished a ton as a fashion model, she's a VS Angel and she's freaking HOT. landing the cover of SI would give her career the real launch into actual house-hold name superstardom. and she's got the perfect personality for it.

TYRA 1997. that's the cover that made me first even notice the magazine. it had true IMPACT. that single cover turned Tyra into a household name. without question the single best cover in since the 1990s. (i'm not that familiar with the covers prior to that). i also loved the Rebecca Romijn cover "The Not So Virgin Islands". that was awesome!
