The GQ interview that she did in 2003 is one of the things that confirms she's 25. During the interview, she says more than once "I'm 21." It was the May 2003 issue with Keanu Reeves on the cover which means it hit newsstands in April. In the interview, she and the reporter talk about Valentine's Day, so the interview was probably done around that time (February of 2003). Since Adriana says in the interview "I'm 21," that means she would have been turning 22 that June - making 1981 her year of birth. A scan of the interview is probably somewhere in the editorial thread.

I think she might have gone on a diet for "herself" rather than Victoria's Secret suggesting it. The reason I think that is because Tyra has commented that as her weight fluctuated over the years, the VS execs never once told her to lose weight or go on a diet. Here's a quote from that NY Post article from before the show: Victoria's Secret cannot use a regular fashion model, or "the skinny girls, like the trend has been in runway shows," says Mitro. "We need voluptuous. Ninety-five percent of our customers are women, so they want to see real women." Lima is one of those girls. Out of the 27 models in the show, the Brazilian bombshell is one of the few stars - along with Bundchen - who has a contract with Victoria's Secret. That's why I'm lean towards her weight probably not being much of a problem for VS. It's really only once a year that it "matters" because they obviously have no problem airbrushing when it comes to the catalogues. Either way, I'm in agreement with you on the rest of your post. Her weight seems fine to me. Her butt looked fantastic.

25. She didn't start being coy about her age until the last year or so. When she first came out, I remember thinking "Oh, we're the same age," and I was born in 1981. She was 15 when she did the FORD contest in 1996. It's too bad chilaX is dead because there was a debate over whether models could do nude pictures while they were underage. I posted an article where Ellen Von Unwerth talked about making the Wicked book as proof. Ellen mentioned that it was done in late 1997, and she talked about how Adriana was just 16-years-old at the time. 1997-16 = 1981. I can't find the link anymore, but Iris might remember it and saved it.

She's taller than 5'8". If you go back and look at some of the pictures from the Angels Across America tour (which I'm too lazy to post), Adriana is clearly taller than Heidi and Alessandra and pretty close to the same height as Tyra and Gisele. If Adriana is only 5'8", then that'd make Ale around 5'7" and Gisele under 5'10" - and neither one of them are that short. :::edited to add::: (Not implying that 5'7" or 5'9" is short, but that those other models are taller than that.) The AAA pictures give you a great baseline for height comparison because they were basically all wearing the same shoes, and you can see that she's not as short as it seems like people want to make her. For some reason, Adriana seems like one of those models that people love to knock inches off of.
