She moved to the states in 1922 where she became popular but only for a short time. When "talkies" started she no longer had appeal to audiences due to her thick polish accent. She traveled to Europe and made more films there but came back to the states and became a citizen. She died on Aug. 1, 1987 in San Antonio, TX of pneumonia.
