September 4Sep 4 The ending chase-sequence/boss battle of MGS3 is amazing and haven't aged a bit after 20 yrs. Kojima's "camera work" is at the level of Mad Max. No wonder he admires George Miller so much and cast him into one of his games.Overall this game reminds me of raiders of the lost arc, it's such a classic. It could be easily have been made into an epic 3 hr film in the 1980s-2000s.
September 5Sep 5 finally found out after all these years that Big Boss in Peace walker/MGSV is partially inspired by Che
Monday at 03:05 AM3 days interesting how kojima calls Big Boss caciquehttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cacique
Yesterday at 05:29 PM1 day I checked out the entire cutscenes/story for Peace walker for the first time in 15 yrs. Overall it's the weakest of the canon games, really weird/resembling Japanese anime more than metal gear, and pretty underwhelming for the telling the story of the how Outer Heaven came about. It deserves to be re-made with better writing and revision. The story of Big Boss is the most important in the franchise with the most potential. But there are 4 epic moments in the game that are great. Metal gear is really an unfinished masterwork like Game of Thrones.
1 hour ago1 hr finished watching the metal gear solid portable ops, the follow up to MGS3 for the first time. It came out about 17 yrs ago and I missed it because it came out on PSP. The story is better than the one in peace walker because it's the most relevant story arc about what influenced Big Boss to create outer heaven. But I find the story underdeveloped with tons of unexploited potential.I'm convinced now that Kojima is the GRRM of gaming. Both PSP titles show that he exhausted his best ideas in MGS 1, 2, 3, 4. The first 3 were masterpieces but 4 was a bit excessive. In a way "Outer Heaven" is the "Winds of Winter" of the franchise. Underwhelming stuff once its revealed in MGS PSP despite the vast hype and potential throughout the series.
