Revisiting this after 20 years. Just an awesome, genius level story for a game- one of the best game stories ever made. Kojima probably peaked with MGS1-MGS3 and never got his mojo back. MGS4 was brilliant too but suffered from a lot of excess and cheese.

Death Stranding is original but nowhere near as interesting as MGS.

It looks like it's highly likely that there will be more remakes- I hope they remake MGS2 next.

4 benefited from already being on the PS3.

Overall MGS3 remake is just a re-skin of the old game. The cutscenes and speaking/facial expressions look wooden/awkward.

looks like the outlast game. I bet that there is a shooting side to this game with Leon or somebody else. tbh the monster is kind of goofy to me, like something from japanese cartoons

Interesting to watch this 20 yrs later with a re-skin.

Kojima wrote Eva to be pretty edgy and a little unrealistic. She is already outed as a manipulative siren from the start with relationships with 2 characters. Once she meets snake Eva immediately exposes her breasts 2 minutes after meeting lol and trying to seduce him on and off throughout their 2 hrs + of conversation in the game.

She is the ultimate male fantasy that never happens in real life unless the man is a celebrity/male model/ 'very important'.

But all of this is her trick and she openly discusses the use of her beauty to seduce important targets. Bizarrely she continues to do so with Snake even though she openly admits it from the start.

Snake only caves into her beauty twice in the game, once after she demonstrates that she actually cares for him and would risk her life for him and the other at the very end of the game, which it is obvious by then that she really likes him.

It is also obvious that Snake is really attracted to her from the start and is constantly fighting himself by talking about other subjects and stopping her seduction process. When she gets close to him in a romantic way he doesn't move back which the natural response to someone we wouldn't want to make out with.

But by the end, Eva's mission comes first, and by MGS4 we know the truth- that she really did have massive lust for him at the end and even carried his babies...
