DS III is genius and the franchise has wrapped up with the Ringed city.  

 

There will probably be a Bloodborne II coming out and some other souls- like IP

yes, the original Dark Souls .  The character has an interesting backstory

Heroes' journey as intentionally expressed by Dark Souls.  These guys are on the money, I read Campbell's book a while ago.  They don't go deep enough though; a thorough analysis could be as long as a paper.

George RR Martin talks about videogames as a potential artform.  he is working with Fromsoft now.  Studios like Fromsoft, CD Projred, and the defunct studio that created bioshock have reached that level imho.
