My spin: These were two close matches throughout! Julie becomes the 5th seeded model to fall, and Kim continues her impressive run all the way through the a difficult couple of matches in the Qualifying Draw and now another toughie here in the Main Draw. In the other match, it was virtually even the whole way, but just enough people went with Ingrid to propel her into Round 2. My spin: Wow. The Slovakian qualifier, Lucia, pulled off the upset of the tournament so far, bouncing out a bonafide supermodel and our #11 seed. Carol now has the unwanted distinction of being the highest seeded model to be knocked out in the first round. In the other match, Melissa prevailed easily, as expected.
