October 2, 201311 yr Author Mad Season is alongside Temple of the Dog one of the "super groups" of the Grunge scene. It was formed in 1994 by members from Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam and Screaming Trees. They released only one album: Above in 1995. Mad Season Layne Staley (Alice in Chains) Mike McCready (Pearl Jam) Barrett Martin (Screaming Trees) John Baker Saunders (The Walkabouts) There's also collaborations by Mark Lanegan (Screaming Trees)
October 24, 201311 yr Author Well, they're not from the Seattle scene, and they became relevant when the grunge movement was in decay for quite some time already (if not already gone). But their music sounds a lot like Grunge. For me at least. There's a big Nirvana influence here. They're often labelled as "post-grunge". And I hate those "post-x" denominations... So I'll post them here with the grunge bands Silverchair - Freak I haven't listened to them that much though, I should start to
December 28, 201311 yr Author I can't believe I haven't posted them. One of the first Grunge bands: Screaming Trees I love how they include psychedelic/60s Rock elements in their music Live in 1989 From the album Sweet Oblivion (1992)
August 22, 201410 yr Author Today it's been 24 years since the release of this album: Facelift by Alice In Chains. Such an incredible debut album. Probably my favorite by them (Dirt is another possibility)
September 29, 20159 yr Author Two incredible albums were released this day in 1992 Stone Temple Pilots' debut: Core And Alice in Chains' Dirt
October 15, 20159 yr Author I love Purple, but I actually like Core more. Is a bit heavier and more raw in general. Is probably my favorite along Nº4.
December 4, 20159 yr Author So sad news today for Grunge and Rock music in general... RIP Scott Weiland, and thanks for the music "I wanna be as big as the mountain, I wanna fly as high as the sun. I wanna know what the rent's like in heaven I wanna know where the river goes..."
