Mad Season is alongside Temple of the Dog one of the "super groups" of the Grunge scene. It was formed in 1994 by members from Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam and Screaming Trees. They released only one album: Above in 1995.

Mad Season

Layne Staley (Alice in Chains)

Mike McCready (Pearl Jam)

Barrett Martin (Screaming Trees)

John Baker Saunders (The Walkabouts)

There's also collaborations by Mark Lanegan (Screaming Trees)

Well, they're not from the Seattle scene, and they became relevant when the grunge movement was in decay for quite some time already (if not already gone). But their music sounds a lot like Grunge. For me at least. There's a big Nirvana influence here.

They're often labelled as "post-grunge". And I hate those "post-x" denominations...  So I'll post them here with the grunge bands

I can't believe I haven't posted them. One of the first Grunge bands: Screaming Trees

I love how they include psychedelic/60s Rock elements in their music

Today it's been 24 years since the release of this album:

Facelift by Alice In Chains.

Such an incredible debut album. Probably my favorite by them (Dirt is another possibility)

Two incredible albums were released this day in 1992

Stone Temple Pilots' debut: Core

And

Alice in Chains' Dirt

I love Purple, but I actually like Core more. Is a bit heavier and more raw in general. Is probably my favorite along Nº4.

So sad news today for Grunge and Rock music in general...

RIP Scott Weiland, and thanks for the music
