The Last Song

Seventeen-year-old Veronica 'Ronnie' Miller's life was turned upside-down when her parents divorced and her father moved from New York City to Tybee Island, Georgia. Three years later, she remains angry and alienated from her parents, especially her father ...until her mother decides it would be in everyone's best interest if she spent the summer on Tybee Island with him. Ronnie's father, a former concert pianist and teacher, is living a quiet life in the beach town, immersed in creating a work of art that will become the centerpiece of a local church. The tale that unfolds is an unforgettable story about love in its myriad forms - first love, the love between parents and children - that demonstrates, as only a Nicholas Sparks novel can, the many ways that deeply felt relationships can break our hearts ...and heal them.

Has anyone else seen this movie? I was wondering how other people felt about it because it had a lot of mixed reviews.

My mini review on the movie :p

Miley Cyrus was better than I thought she was going to be. She struggled a bit with the emotion in the one scene (

at the hospital with her father when she learns he is dying

). Other than that I thought her performance was good. Her piano playing was impressive as well.

Greg Kinnear, who plays her father, was excellent. The boy who plays her brother was also very good. Liam Hemsworth, who plays her love interest, was just OK.

Anyone who sees this movie and is expecting it to be an epic romance like "The Notebook" will be disappointed. Though this movie is advertised that way it is actually more about the relationship between Miley's character and her father.

Anyway, I thought it was good. I recommend it!

And have tissues ready! I cried twice.

I agree totally with your review of the movie, though I didn't cry at all, don't know why :ermm: ...

I didn't expect Miley to be this good neither, but I adored her brother and father...and Liam was simply wub  :p

And I didn't know that she actually plays the piano by herself :o I though someone else did that

^Well, I may have been having an overly sensitive moment. :p

Yes, she said in an interview that she actually played the piano herself in the movie. :hehe:
