Vor drei Monaten endete die Show „Germany's next Topmodel”, bei der die Wittenerin so groß herauskam und den zweiten Platz belegte. Seither hat sie das Alltagsgeschäft im Model-Business in Beschlag genommen und da bleiben nun mal nicht allzu viele Verschnaufpausen. „Es ist schon ziemlich stressig, aber ich bin ja auch ganz froh, immer wieder unterwegs zu sein”, berichtet die 18-Jährige, die erst einmal eine Auszeit von ihrer Schulausbildung an einem Bochumer Berufskolleg genommen hat. Schließlich will sie ihre Chance im Model-Beruf beim Schopfe packen und die Türen, die ihr durch die Pro Sieben-Show von Heidi Klum geöffnet wurden, weit aufstoßen. Gestern Paris, heute Witten und morgen ab nach Mailand: Mandy Bork lebt ein Vierteljahr nach Beendigung der TV-Casting-Show quasi aus dem Koffer. Wie es Models in ihrem Alter nun mal tun. „Ich war auf der ,Fashion Week' in Berlin, dann für zehn Tage in Paris. Im Moment geht es für mich darum, mein Buch weiter aufzubauen, mich bei verschiedenen Castings zu zeigen, damit mich die potenziellen Kunden kennenlernen”, berichtet Mandy Bork. Im Oktober geht's wieder in die französische Hauptstadt, eines der ganz großen Zentren für die Mode-Branche - dann ist dort ,Fashion Week”, und vielleicht gibt's dann einen lukrativen Auftrag für den Wittener Teenie. „Immer am Abend vorher bekommt man einen Ablaufplan für den nächsten Tag- und dann ziehst du alleine los mit deinem Metro-Ticket”, sagt die 18-Jährige. Für sie war es bisweilen „eine krasse Erfahrung, sich bei den Castings vorzustellen. Da geht man dann mit seinem Buch, mit seinen Fotos hin, ist 30 Sekunden bei diesem Termin �" und fährt dann schon wieder nach Hause.” Anders als die Großen dieser Branche muss sich die Wittenerin eben noch einen Namen machen in der Glitzer- und Glamour-Welt der internationalen Mode. „In Paris kennt mich ja noch keiner”, weiß Mandy. Ähnlich dürfte es für sie demnächst in Mailand werden. Am heutigen Dienstag geht ihr Flieger in die Metropole im italienischen Norden. „Für einen ganzen Monat werde ich dort bleiben.” Untergebracht ist sie in einem der Appartements, die die verschiedenen Agenturen eigens für ihre Models vor Ort angemietet haben. Mit zwei anderen Mädchen wird sich Mandy Bork in Mailand die Wohnung teilen, „aber ich weiß vorher nie, wen ich dort antreffe. In Paris habe ich mit drei anderen Mädchen zusammengewohnt, eine aus Marokko, eine aus Russland und eine aus Litauen.” Eine richtige Verbindung zu den Kolleginnen aufzubauen ist aufgrund der knapp bemessenen Zeit immer schwierig. Schließlich geht jede ihrer Wege, eilt tagtäglich von Termin zu Termin. „Und dann geht es vier Wochen darum, zu hoffen, dass man einen guten Job bekommt”, gibt Mandy Bork einen Einblick in ihren Model-Alltag. „Mein Traum wäre es”, sinniert die 18-Jährige, „dass mal mein Bild in den Chanel-Läden hängt.” Einstweilen wird die Wittenerin hier und da für Shootings von Magazinen wie Gala oder Cosmopolitan gebucht - „vier, fünf Agenturen habe ich mittlerweile, die mir da helfen.” Ihre Laufsteg-Fähigkeiten frischt die Wittenerin immer mal wieder zu Hause auf, trainiert weiter täglich. „Im Hotel schaffe ich das leider nicht, da fehlt mir dann die Zeit.” Vier Wochen in Mailand stehen ihr nun bevor.
