steve with an s Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 You might want to try Firefox with No Script for imagebam. It also stops the annoying pop-up they have for the larger view. Could you please provide more info on how to disable the script for Imagebam? Thanks! NoScript is an extension/add-on for Firefox. http://noscript.net/ To add it, use Tools > Add-ons and then either search or browse for "noscript". By default, NoScript disables java and javascript. You can give temporary permission for a site to run java/script, or give permission permanently with your own "trusted" list, and the extension installs with a couple of major/core sites (like Mozilla.org) already on that list (you can block them if you want). So, by default, when you visit a page hosted by Imagebam, that page will not have permission to run java or javascript. With NoScript, you don't "disable" scripts for Imagebam, or any other site: NoScript defaults to that behavior, and it's up to you to "enable" scripts. NoScript is very useful for browsing, though many sites lose some functionality. Sometimes, without javascript, sites are totally broken. You can see the dialogue for allowing/forbidding a site in this screencap. See the small menu, bottom-right. By default, imagebam.com has been forbidden from running java and javascript. You click on the tray-icon small "S" with the slash through it to get to NoScript's menu. Quote

Methyl Posted May 27, 2012 Posted May 27, 2012 Be careful when clicking on an IMAGEBAM link !!!I was on the Britney Spears' topic and when I clicked on a picture I had a really dangerous virus on my computer. Now I am always scared to open an image from IMAGEBAM. This is why I do not do it anymore. Quote
tzdon Posted June 17, 2012 Posted June 17, 2012 Imagebam is one of the best and fastest Imagehosters all Time. And they never had a Virus,i been in the Net over 11 Years, moderate and admin 2 Boards and never see/heard about IB Problems. If you want to see no Pop Up or Porn there,2 easy Ways for Firefox.Install : Ad Block plus Add on and then activate a Filterlist, all known crappy Pop Ups was blocked,Also a Add called : Killjasmin is out,it also block a lot...I meanImagevenueImagebamTurboimagehostImageuppersharenxsall ok, but i see (specially in the Celeb Section) more and more crappy Hosters like upix or host.swagirl or imagehyper. They all try you to direct to other Sites sometimes ( if you have no Blocker),load endless or sometime never load,so some Threads get useless Quote
Mahi Posted June 17, 2012 Posted June 17, 2012 I so much agree with this, from all warnings to stop using imagebam ,I stopped, but then I used it again(most famous, respectful boards use it),.it's so good with the other imagehosters(except sharenxs) u mentioned .I use all these hosters and they're very ok including imagebamalso I agree with those crappy hosters some use it here, such as swagirl, and I add imagechilli and imagetwist, they really load slowly, direct to other sitesalso some use a dangerous, full of viruses host called dippic, everytime I view image with this hoster,I have a virus warning. tzdon Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 I just stumbled to Emma Watson Thread and for testing i disable my Adblocker.Imagehyper.com open 2 Pornsites and 3 Pop Ups !!Maybe there should be a new Thread about these crappy Hosters, think some new members only use it and flood the Board cause they make Cash with them. Mahi Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 not sure about the cash thing, but it explains alot of why they use these unknown, full of porn hosters,I browse the celebrity section alot and I'm really annoyed and really want these new members to stop using these bad hosters, but here in BZ there isn't a rule about kinds of hosters limited for use.I hope for a solution. maddog107 Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 We are worKing on a solution that would automatically move images from these hosters and put them on the BZ servers Quote

Most image hosts run advertising and what not so they all technically make a profit from hosting images. Is there something special we should identify with? Quote
Ramsfan Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 They're talking about sites who have people sign up to them and they pay people to post content on forums/boards, which they do it usually by how many times people click on certain links and both parties get money. A good example is Megaupload.Hosts like Imagebam get the profits, but only them. The users of their site just host their pictures. Quote
