Few songs have such an effect on me as Dear Prudence does

This stripped down version sounds so good

^ it's a great song, the music is really good, but something's off with the vocal effects.

Vocals effects??

There's no vocals effects besides the lead vocal being double tracked.

Yeah, that's what I dislike.

I've always disliked this music! :yucky:  It's like entering in a porcelain shop to smash everything into little pieces with a hammer. And they call that music.........

It's not even that weird or that Avant-Garde and in some passages it doesn't sound that far off the likes of say, Mahler or other post-Romantic composers.

Plus, music like this is EVERYWHERE  in movies' soundtracks and the such.

Mahler is far far better than this nightmare's music. I've already heard people saying that Mahler is a precursor of these atonal barbarians, but I strongly disagree.  Mahler uses the framework of the tonal system in his original way, but he uses it and his system is coherent.

The main problem of the atonal music noise is that it shows no regularity whatsoever, everything sounds very random: the rhythm, the "melody", etc. I could randomly press the keys of a piano and it would sound the same.

Mahler (and all the real musicians) has nothing to do with the atonal barbarians for another reason: he's looking for beauty in music. :bellazon:
