July 12, 200915 yr Author I've grown up a lot in the last few years (I'll be 24 in July), I make a lot of money, support myself, and I really want to look and feel like the woman I have grown up to become. Now I know larger breasts does not a woman make, but I still get asked if I just graduated high school. So you want your breasts to be a sign of your maturity. I guess many women think like that. I really hope that one day women will be judged by their personality and intelligence, and not by their boob size. Hmm, and is it really the case that guys look at your breasts and think "Oh God, she must be a high school student..."? That's so sad. I guess that you would be ashamed much more if they had those thoughts after talking to you for a while. Small boobs are not a tragedy, small intelligence is. There are many girls who have smaller breasts than you, and yet they don't decide on a surgery. I don't want to sound rude or anything, just throwing in my two cents... I'm happy if you're happy And I'm sure you're gonna look wonderful with "new" breasts (no irony whatsoever). I'm only arguing that you're not doing it totally for yourself. In a sense, you're doing it also for those guys who think of you as an undergraduate. You want to show that you're a woman. And I perfectly understand that Hmmm, on the other hand... I could think that I have a small penis (in fact, it's average-sized), but I don't even think about any augmentation surgery. Even if a bigger penis would probably boost my confidence.

I could think that I have a small penis (in fact, it's average-sized), but I don't even think about any augmentation surgery. Even if a bigger penis would probably boost my confidence. I think a lot of women who get breast implants want their breast size to be reflective of their age/maturity. In fact, I've spoken to many women who've had it done and that is a main factor. In a perfect world, women wouldn't be judged by their looks at all and a man wouldn't be judged by his career/education/money. But it's not a perfect world and never will be. I'm not doing this for any guy or guys because I'm happily taken. This truly is for me and to feel better about myself. I see nothing wrong with that. Breast implants are a very personal decision that each woman needs to take the time to make. It's not right for everyone, but it was right for me. I am 110% happy with my breasts. I absolutely LOVE them. It's been exactly 2 months since my surgery and my breasts are so soft... they are as soft as they were when they were natural. My regular physician (not my plastic surgeon) was shocked how amazing my implants are, she said she had never seen results as natural looking as mine. I'm a full D, sometimes a DD in certain bras, so I went up 2+ cup sizes. But they look natural and just perfect on my figure. I fill out all my shirts wonderfully, I don't feel insecure when I put on form-fitting shirts or low-cut tops. I can squeeze them like natural breasts, they bounce like natural breasts. As far as I'm concerned, they are more natural than any of those fake padded bras I used to wear to look busty. I say, to each her own. But for those girls who are interested, you need to take your time to do your research and find the best doctor. I had one of the best doctors in my city and he did a fantastic job! I would do it all over again if I had to. Btw -- my fiance is incredibly happy and he loves them! He can't get over how natural they feel. He loves the more feminine look. He loved me before and he still loves me now.
September 8, 200915 yr Author It's great to hear that your surgery went perfectly OK and you're happy with the result I'm sure you look great now. However, I'm still concerned about the way you view it - did you REALLY do it ONLY for yourself? How are bigger breasts going to make you feel better about yourself? Don't you want men to appreciate you more as a woman, as a "feminine being"? You don't want them to assume that you're not a schoolgirl anymore, but a grown-up woman. You want more confidence, so now you have it, and that's perfectly okay. But, excuse me, saying that you do it solely for yourself sounds narcissistic. Let's say that I'd like to have a penis enlargement surgery. Why would I need it? For MYSELF? So that I could wake up every day and look at myself in the mirror and say "Whoa, I feel really great with that 9-inch thing now..."? No. The only reason for me deciding on having my penis enlarged would be to, uhmm... impress the ladies. And boost my sexual confidence, of course. I'm really sorry, but I really can't buy this "only for myself" justification.

September 9, 200915 yr Lets face it, having big breasts contributes a lot more the aesthetic/visual appeal of a woman's body, where as having a big penis doesn't. Unless you wear really tight pants and women enjoying eyeing your large package. So, I don't think that's a very fair comparison... Anyway, my point is that getting a boob job can obviously change a woman's overall appearance & figure (regardless of whether or not she's naked) so, if a woman is not satisfied with her body and she believes having bigger breasts will improve it, getting implants can raise her self esteem. Wanting to improve one's self esteem is something that people want to do for themselves, not anyone else.
September 9, 200915 yr ^ Dude, quit with the badgering. She got implants because she wanted them. Her motivations don't need your approval. Move on. Thank you. QBall -- yes, it is possible for a woman to get implants for herself. I am in a relationship. I don't need breasts to impress anyone or to get my man. My man is actually a legs/ass man who was perfectly happy with my small breasts. But I've wanted implants for the last 10 years. This was a HUGELY personal decision. I did it for MYSELF. I don't walk around in low-cut tops or cut-off shirts or any of that. I wear regular clothes -- t-shirts, jeans, etc. I'm not out to impress anyone. Actually, I feel I wear LESS revealing clothes now that I have my implants. I'm more likely to wear sports bras because now sports bras don't make me look completely flat. I dress up a lot less now too because I have a more curvy body and I'm more comfortable with it, where as before I was insecure, so I would dress up in fancy clothes to make myself feel better and to make up for what I was lacking. Now I don't have to! I love my new look and that is all I care about. I truly did this for myself. I feel like these are the breast I was supposed to be born with, but God just forgot to give me! Like I've said before, to me, my implants are more real to me than all the padded bras I wore to feel better about myself. I'm sorry you can't accept my "this is for myself" reasoning. But that's not my problem, it's yours. I don't care if I sound narcissitic. I'm the one who has to live with my body every day and I will never regret having this surgery. Maybe some women get it for the attention or for men, but not all and certainly not me.
September 9, 200915 yr Author I don't need breasts to impress anyone or to get my man. My man is actually a legs/ass man who was perfectly happy with my small breasts. (...) This was a HUGELY personal decision. That's very good to hear. Because it wouldn't be too nice if you got your implants to satisfy your boyfriend. I mean, there certainly are girls out there who do that, but it's really nice that you're not one of them. Secondly - what is self-esteem? I believe it's confidence that you feel about yourself. That confidence influences your social interactions - AND the other way round. If you notice signs of approval, admiration or respect coming from other people, you automatically raise your self-esteem. I'm NOT saying: now that you have bigger breasts, you'll start dressing cheap or slutty, with huge cleavages and so on... Not at all. But you'll no longer hear rude comments (I don't know if there were any earlier, I hope not) or spot weird looks. Sure, you got implants for yourself, but only to a certain extent. You want to look better - not only to yourself, but also to other people, whether you realize it or not. I'm not trying to sound rude or anything, just throwing in my two cents here. As I said earlier - I'm glad that the surgery went alright and you're happy now. That's always a good thing
September 22, 200915 yr nice little reading. http://www.paulkienitz.net/no-implants.html I said 'no' because I don't ever want to get one. no desire what so ever, i'm happy with what i've got, and when they get saggy...its called a nice push up bra.
September 23, 200915 yr ^ Lol. That info is poorly out-dated and very wrong. Who writes that stuff anyway? I did plenty of research. There are a lot of "anti-implant" websites out there that try to scare women. There are risks for everything. The truth is, you're more likely to die in a car accident than you are from breast implants. But you drive a car every day, don't you? And I love when people bash silicone... because even saline implants have a silicone shell. And what do you think hip replacements are made out of? Silicone. Anyway, I could dispute almost everything on that website, but I won't because I don't have that much time, hahaha. If you do the research (I did 3 months of it!) and find a highly-respected and reputable surgeon, then you'll more than likely be fine. I've known women who had their implants 20+ years and had no problems! Those websites are just scare-tactics.
September 23, 200915 yr Oh, and for those of you nay-sayers about breast implants, I'd be happy to show you pictures of mine. They look amazingly real and feel completely natural. Obviously, you can't feel them, but you'll have take my word for it. They are great and several people on BZ have seen them already.
September 23, 200915 yr I know Moiselles, its just very interesting to hear that, even if the "info" is old and bias. I've heard the good and the bad, but I've formed my own opinion, and answered the question...would never get mine done, once again have no desire. Perfectly happy with what I have. But thats what its all about right? Happiness. and I'm sure your boobs look very real :brows:
September 23, 200915 yr I want one so bad. Even more so with having heard your stories moiselles! One day when I have the money I'll do it. =)

It's great that you don't want one! It is a very painful thing to go through, and it's a very personal choice. I just don't want misinformation put out there just to scare people. That website is very old with lots of very wrong information. It seems the guy who wrote it is basically giving his opinion with some old "facts" thrown in. Honestly, that website is very offensive to someone with breast implants. There are plenty of other websites that contain real statistics and up-to-date facts without a condescending tone. The guy who wrote it probably had a bad experience ... his girlfriend probably got hers done and then left him for someone hotter and better. He sounds a little bitter to me... But nevertheless, I am happy for your choice.
September 23, 200915 yr I want one so bad. Even more so with having heard your stories moiselles! One day when I have the money I'll do it. =) It is expensive, but oh-so worth it! I'd do it over again if I had to! I wish I had done it earlier! Just make sure to really research the plastic surgeons in your area. They need to be certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgeons, as well as a member of the American Association of Plastic Surgeons. Go on at least 2 consultations with different doctors. Let me know when you're ready to do it! I'd love to talk to you more about it and I would definitely be supportive.
