She was discovered during the Canadian Look of the Year by Elite Model Management in 1991 and represented Canada (together with Vida Zukauskas, Gabrielle Friedman, Brandy Kusmack, Yuliana Vovk, Jenn Miranda and Roma Daimus) during the international 1991 final in New York.

Liza worked from 1991 until the late 1990s. One of her first international markets was Hamburg where she stayed several months in 1991 right after being discovered. After returning back to Canada and the US for a longer period she returned back to Europe in 1994/1995 to work in Milan and Paris.
