I think Erin did body paint this year too. In this interview she talks about how the rocks scraped off her body paint. Last year she was in St. John and there weren't any rocks near. Maybe she's the blonde girl with the red on.

Chanel is 3/4 black 1/4 Korean. Her mom is mixed race and her father is black. I think Bo and Ashley basically look exactly the same sans body type. I'd be really disappointed if Gigi got the cover simply because Yu shot it. I just really looked into his work and he's an awful photographer. All of the top shows pay. I think in New York everyone who shows has to pay their models now. Couture shows actually pay at least a couple of thousand dollars. Some models who aren't big names get famous for runway and get paid well for every show that they do like Marina Peres, Lindsay Ellingson, Morgane Dubled and Jacquelyn Jablonski. For most girls runway is supposed be a stepping stone but some girls can make a very good living off it.

Probably. She still has that VS fanbase and she kind of knows about sports. She'll probably be first like Erin was last year.

It's a good investment. She can easily get a mortgage with her earnings. She only really needs to be making around $650k to comfortably afford that house. I'm sure she makes more than that with her VS contract combined with other gigs. The average sale for that building is 2.8m though.

In the lawsuit that Photogenics filed against DNA regarding Lindsay in 2011 it says that her VS contract was for $1.5 million per year so if the models are only being paid $100k then that sucks. I doubt any of the new girls are making over $500k because they already spend close to $5 million on Adriana and Alessandra. Karlie says she's 6'1 1/2 and her feet are pretty big so her heels are always slightly higher in the same shoes as other girls. She's not much taller than Erin who says she's 6'0. I think pretty much all of the angels have the same body type and size. Some are just a little meatier than others.

Its for rookies to promote. Erin did a lot of promo last year. She did Us Weekly, Fox News, Keith Olbermann, and Dan Patrick. Most of them by herself so I could see rookies getting promo work.

I'm late to the conversation but I think that we should not disrespect Karolina by comparing her to Adriana and Alessandra in any way. They both have less than 15 vogue covers which are mostly from Brazil within the past 5 years. Karolina has over 40 most of which were from before 2005. You can't really name anything that they've done that she hasn't but she's done more than they will. Karolina is undoubtedly one of the best there ever was. That's not to take away from Adri and Ale though because I do love them but to even compare is not realistic.

For the past two years Erin seems to have been going for the casual look. She was much better in VS when they styled her as a bombshell. She also looks uncomfortable with her body.

Hannah's video didn't go viral at all. It's almost at the bottom based on views. Kelly's video has more views.

Robyn only got press for two weeks. Hannah D was definitely talked about in the media. I think her career has taken off quite a bit from being on the cover. Gigi is having a moment but its not beneficial to put her on the cover. Her magazine covers sell horribly and at the end of the MJ has to sell magazines. Nina would be a better choice than Hannah F because although Hannah is a very sexy girl, she probably won't move magazines. Besides Nina, a model of color like Chanel or Chrissy are probably the only girls who could actually move the magazines. The exceptions would probably be Hannah D with a repeat cover or Erin because she seems to do a lot of work with actual sports brands (like Marisa used to).

This suit is Norma Kamali. Lindsay Ellingson wore it in her cover story for The Daily Summer. I wonder if she ever went to castings for SI. She's a pretty good high fashion/commercial hybrid.

I doubt Gigi or Nina will get the cover. I hope its Chanel or Erin but it doesn't seem likely.

I feel bad for Lily during her fantasy bra walk. The worst thing that they could have done to her is put Alessandra right after her. Ale has lost of presence on the runway and Lily has none so it looks really awkward.

Did Naomi or Angela ever do anything with VS besides the shows? I notice that they were always treated very well. They both opened sections and some years even got 3 outfits. Were they working with the brand and I'm just unaware or was it just because they were supermodels?

I think VS is having such a problem with the whole angel situation/promotion because they haven't been able to master a formula that works for them like they had in 2005. This is when they had Tyra, Heidi, Gisele, Karolina, Alessandra, Adriana, Izabel, and Selita. They had the credibility of Heidi and Tyra with Gisele and Karolina as their main girls, Adriana and Alessandra were gaining traction, and Selita and Izabel were viable new faces. Then things started to fall apart. Tyra decided to retire from VS, Heidi became super unreliable because she was having babies every year, Ana Beatriz turned down her angel contract, they couldn't get Daria, Gisele decided to leave, and Karolina got sick and her body changed. The girls who came in during that time (Miranda, Doutzen, and Behati) were impactful but not in the way that VS was used to. The most notable new angel of the 2005-2010 was Marisa Miller but she was really only a temporary fix. She was very famous, she did a lot of promotion, and shot a lot of catalog for VS but she only did 3 commercials. When Marisa left, VS did that thing where they kind of but not really hired Candice, Chanel, Lindsay, Emanuela, and Rosie as angels. Then they actually hired Candice, Chanel, and Rosie along with Erin and Lily out of nowhere. They dropped Emanuela and put Lindsay in limbo. Rosie quits, they officially pick up Lindsay, drop Chanel, lose Miranda, lose Erin, have a werid Karlie era, and lose Doutzen. During this 5 year period VS seemed to be in a weird place. None of the new girls were getting the mainstream push that girls before them got. Adriana and Alessandra had grown to an iconic level, Doutzen and Miranda did great, and Behati successfully transitioned from pink to the mainline. Candice is obviously a hit but she hasn't been able to draw in people who don't care about VS but thats VS's fault. There was that whole period where she and Erin were the face of everything and killing it but they always had Lindsay on the talk shows and doing the promotion. Lindsay was definitely the most able to do live interviews because Candice came across shy and Erin was bad at interviews. It was very similar to Marisa during her day but they never actually used Lindsay for anything besides makeup tutorials. Lily is a huge question mark because she was a filler girl until she wasn't. I do think if they had known that Doutzen and Karlie were going to go when they did that VS might have kept Erin around. I would have actually loved that. With the new girls, it seems like they're throwing 10 new girls at us and seeing who sticks. Certain girls are already starting to rise above the others. I don't think Jo really has a chance at being an angel because it isn't a logical decision to sign another girl when you have 15 others and a pink girl. I think the new angels marketing thing is a good new rhythm for them but with 10 girls none of them can really be pulled to stardom without pushing other girls out first.

I doubt Jo will ever be an angel at this point. Even if they drop a few of the angels it makes no sense to add another one. They are pushing most of the new girls and they seem to have gotten their new mix with their 10 angels, most of whom will probably stay on. If you add those girls with the fact that the vets are likely to stay and Rachel is on track to be an angel, I dont see the room for Jo. They'll probably just keep using her to shoot things.

I know a lot of people think that Josephine is going to become an angel but has she been in any of the commercials?
