No. They do not deserve that because they're going to get severly punished when they come back to their country. They'll probably get labor camp for putting their nation to shame. It's not only sport, this is where politics kicks in.- Feet

Damn, what a body... and what a booty!- FIFA World Cup 2010
D. And that would be: Ghana, Germany or Serbia. Everything's still possible in group D. England against Germany, that could make a good one... Damn it, England has played terribly disappointing so far Two draws but it feels like two losses. Besides, most of the favorites haven't played that well so far. France is practically out of the tournament. Holland's won their matches, but their playing style is not that spectacular, really. Same for Brazil - frankly speaking, if they keep playing like in that match against North Korea, I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if they lost to Ivory Coast tonight. Spain failed enormously by their loss against Switzerland. Germany lost to Serbia, totally unexpectedly (especially considering their 4:0 win against the Autralians). Italy had a draw with Paraguay. Only Argentina has been playing both nicely and effectively.- Soccer?
I'm not a very keen football fan, so I can't really say what I love about it... My peak of interest was when I was about 13-15 years old, but as I grew up my interest faded and faded... But now that I'm not so excited about it, ironically, I can enjoy the World Cup all the more I mean, I can finally look at those teams and see what the names are, who's the best nowadays, I can catch up on the latest stats... It's a cool thing. I'm not obsessed with it, I just enjoy a good match from time to time. Today's matches were nice so far, I hope the last one today won't be any worse. But you're probably asking - what's so appealing about football? I guess it's exciting because: 1. It's really easy to play - you just need a ball and some space that will serve as a field. You don't even need proper goals - you can mark the bar spots on the ground and you're all set. Anyone can go out there and kick a ball - it's not that obvious in the case of basketball or volleyball, where you need a lot more preparation on your own part (you need to be prepared technically, handling a basketball or playing volleyball is more demanding) as well as in terms of proper equipment. It seems that football is the most 'natural' sport for human beings. You don't have difficult rules, like those concerning 'travelling' in basketball or handball. 2. It's much less predictable than other team sports. In basketball or volleyball, you have a proper 'course of action' - team A attacks first, then team B attacks, and again. You don't have that in football. Players have many possibilities regarding what to do with the ball. There are more players in each team than in other team sports (11), so the playing possibilities are much less restricted. It's all left to the imagination and tactics. You can do almost whatever you want with the ball - and in other team sports you have to, more often or less, adjust to the rules that tell you what to do. I hope I managed to get through with my point, however inconceivable it may be to those who don't get football at all- FIFA World Cup 2010

If Brazil keeps playing like this, they won't even reach the quarter-finals. Seriously, yesterday's match was a disaster. Obviously, the Brazilians didn't want to bother playing real football and decided to win by as few goals as they can. At least the goals were nice - especially Maicon's shot from a null angle, that was really something! But otherwise, Brazil just failed. I even thought I was watching Italians dressed up as Canarinhos. Terrible. Now I'm definitely going to support the Koreans in their match against Portugal- FIFA World Cup 2010
Too few goals so far. Too many dull matches. The best so far? Argentina against Nigeria. Best goal? Gabriel Heinze's header, hands down. Gonna watch Brazil now... I think the score will be around 4:0 or something.- Iga Wyrwal
