Kim Smith Vs. Alina Vacariu
Don't know who Alina is, but based on those snaps, I vote for her. Kim's obviously hot-pretty, but so vacant-looking.

US Vogue May (or maybe June) 2007
You're right, Jennka, let's just agree to disagree. We have different opinions of beauty (tho' I like Daria Werbowy too). And just for the record, I DO think Gisele can look very attractive, but generally she's just not my cup of tea. I'll leave the issue alone now. And Taben, I don't dislike ALL of your favorites (or vice-versa); we're both fond of Snejana and Anja!

Different models, same nacionality.
Noemie. Leah can look interestingly pretty, but her resemblance to Lily Donaldson irks me.

Hey, even Strawberry said Gisele was a bit drag. I'm not the only one who sees it... If I didn't know any better, I'd say that was a dude with implants... Great legs and hair do not make a great beauty.

Yes, well at least Snejana doesn't look like she's hiding a penis, like Gisele. Sorry, but Snejana is waaaaaaay prettier (facially) than that transsexual you're so fond of, even if her body sucks. And as for Lara, my mind hasn't changed. She's just downright ugly to me, and I'll never get her appeal. Nothing about her face is nice. If it weren't for her huge tits, she'd have nothing! Being cruel is fun!

Sorry, but I just don't see the "appeal" of Lara. Her face literally offends me, and I haven't reacted that way to a model since Coco Rocha. In fact, between Coco and Lara, I think I'd go with the former, and that's saying A LOT!!!!! Ok, fine, I guess Lara takes eye-catching editorials, but her real-life look is just awful, in my opinion. As for Chanel Iman...eh. I guess the fashion industry was desperate for a black model...it's just a shame they could find someone more alluring.

Models with the WORST runway walk
^Ugh. Not to sound like a hater, but this chick (Lara Stone) does everything wrong for me.
-
US Vogue May (or maybe June) 2007
This coming from someone who likes Lara Stone?! No offense, but Lara is the fuckin' ugliest model to hit the runway since Adina Fohlin. Her browbone is practically at one with her eyelids, and don't get me started on her beastly teeth. On top of that she has nasty coloring. Sorry, but that just needed to be said. All of it. And Sasha and Snejana look nothing alike. For starters, Snejana's eyes aren't halfway out their sockets. Nina, I just don't see eye-to-eye with you RE Sasha's modeling abilities. I think she is a very limited model, actually, and it doesn't help that her runway walk and facial expressions during are positively hair-raising. Sure, she takes the occasionally striking editorial, but Snejana is consistently gorgeous and memorable in her ad campaigns. Sorry, but she (Snejana) trumps Sasha in every respect, in my opinion.

I disagree with this completely. Sasha has one look: Bug-eyed crackwhore. Not appealing. At all. Snejana is much more beautiful and magnetic in front of the camera. 'Tis a shame that she's so goddamn emaciated these days, tho'. And Jennka, when I said Eugenia wasn't "hot", I meant that she's not in demand anymore. I heard/read somewhere that she was supposed to the do the September '04 cover, but pulled out. Don't know why. Well we're talking about their capabilities as a model and well Sasha wins in that category. Yes, because a model's capability is such an objective thing...

I don't know why I keep coming back to this thread! Eugenia: Missed the boat with the Sept '04 cover featuring Daria, Gisele, Natalia, etc. She's not hot anymore. Anja: AGREED. Natasha: Probaly. I don't care for her, but she is a top model. Katja: Nope, not even a B-list model. More like C-list. Daria: Already did the '04 cover. Natalia: Ditto. Cintia: See Katja. Ai: Hasn't been hot in 2 years. Du is the new Asian top model. Karolina: See Daria + Natalia. Magdalena: Too early to tell. And how on earth can you say Sasha is better than Snejana?! At least Snejana looks HUMAN.

^Yeah, I've noticed the same thing too, Layla. I don't think Anna Wintour cares for Anja Rubik :jimmy: (or Snejana Onopka), and yet she is wildly enamored with the likes of Caroline Trentini, Coco Rocha and Lily Donaldson. What a lunatic, she is! Seriously, tho', I think Anja will always be seen second-tier in the eyes of American Vogue, notwithstanding her natural beauty and the tremendous amount of work she gets. Sad, but true.

These are just individual opinions I just don't really care for any of the girls that they selected with the exception of Doutzen, and even that's stretching it a bit. The cover just reinforced the negative impression that the faces of today really and truly pale in comparison to the faces of yesteryear. I'm also frustrated by the fact that they left out some truly worthy models like Du Juan, Snejana Onopka and Anja Rubik, but at the same time inserted virtual-nobodies like Chanel Iman. Not to rag on the young woman, but I don't really see what Anna Wintour sees.

US Vogue May (or maybe June) 2007
err, well while I do agree that Doutzen has the most supermodel appeal, I feel that I should point out, again, that the cover says absolutely nothing about any of these girls being supermodels, so they don't have to feature models who have any supermodel appeal if they don't want to. As such, the inclusion of people like Coco and Lily is not outrageous at all, even if they're unappealing commercially, because they are in fact doing extremely well in the fashion industry, and that is what a "Top Model" does. The only one who stands out as not being successful (yet) is Chanel. Even Agyness, though perhaps a flash in the pan as you suggest, is doing much better than Chanel (she's been in three of the major Vogues, landed a Vogue Italia cover last year, has 6 campaigns this season, did 30+ shows FW07, etc), and therefore has potential to continue being successful. Freja is [most likely] not on the cover b/c there are rumors that photographer Steven Meisel and she do not get along. I'd just like to add that Doutzen is the only girl on this cover who's on my top 10, and even she irks me at times. I don't like Coco. Agyness is meh to me. I'm on the fence with Sasha. I don't really notice Lily or Raquel. Stam is hit or miss for me. Hilary is growing on me but she's definitely not a fave. Caroline is overused in US Vogue and so whatever appeal she used to have to me has died. And I didn't even know of Chanel's existence until recently. So basically what I'm saying is that none of what I've said here has anything to do with my own personal preferences. ETA: I do agree that if they included Chanel for racial diversity, Du Juan should've been chosen instead. Despite the fact that Du Juan has slowed down considerably since last season, she is still a better and more deserving choice than Chanel. "Top model" and "supermodel" are practically interchangeable terms, imo. The purpose of the cover was to reveal which girls were going to dominate the fashion world, and to that end there really is no distinction between the two. Bona fide "supermodels" are long gone, so whichever girls nab the top runway shows, ad campaigns and editorials are really the next best thing. The inclusion of Coco and Lily is ridiculous no matter how you slice it, because they are both exceedingly unattractive and bad models to boot. I also don't get the appeal of Hilary Rhoda; to me she's just another run-of-the-mill Ralph Lauren model who just happened to make nice with the right photographers. I don't care for Freja at all, so it doesn't really matter to me that she didn't make the cover; I'm just surprised that she didn't.

I'm really disappointed in their choices. With the exception of Doutzen, I don't really care for any of these models. The inclusion of Lily Donaldson and Coco Rocha is especially outrageous and disgusting, regardless of their popularity. Doutzen is the only girl on the cover with real supermodel appeal. I sort of like Raquel and Caroline, but even they lack that IT factor. Chanel and Agyness don't belong, period. Me thinks the former was added for political purposes (to add "racial diversity", which is absurd because if you're going to take that route, why not include someone much more worthy like Du Juan?) And I don't see Agyness lasting very long. She has a "flash-in-the-pan" quality to her look. They should've included Snejana Onopka, Irina Lazareanu, Freja Beha (who I don't care for, but she IS big) and Anja Rubik.

Ana or Laetitia
Ana, and it's really not that close. Laetitia's "representative" look (as in, the look she can project) is beautiful, but upon closer inspection one will notice that her eyes are close-set, her nose is hooked and her mouth is vampiric. Generally speaking she's quite attractive in that typically lush French way, but Ana is considerably less flawed and has more natural beauty. In terms of bodies, I also vote for Ana, even if she is less curvy/feminine.

Bar Refaeli & Gisele Bündchen
Bar, absolutely. Gisele can look sexy from a distance, but upclose all I can see is man-bird. She just doesn't have a particularly feminine face (or body, notwithstanding those store-bought breasts). All that said, she does have amazing hair and legs!
-

Tiiu (barely). More unique, and she actually has lips!
-
Alana Zimmer
I saw that too. She's a lot prettier on TV.
-
Different models, same nacionality.
Claudia looks disturbingly young, while Carmen looks frighteningly old. I don't know which one is better (or worse). I guess...Carmen.
-
Different models, same nacionality.
That's a pretty misleading shot of Olga. Based on those photos alone, I'd vote for her, but Tiiu in general is more feminine and interesting-looking.
-
Anja Rubik
^No...you would just have an ugly hammerhead-faced woman with great tits
-
Rose McGowan vs Jennifer Love Hewitt
I don't like either, but Rose was facially prettier in her heyday. Jennifer sort of looks like a ferret. Great body, tho'.
-
Different models, same nacionality.
Wow, Katsia is a lot plainer than I thought I'm not mad about Olga, but pick her anyways. She's more interesting.
-
Scarlett Johansson vs Charlize Theron
Objectively speaking, Charlize. I'm not mad about her look, but her face/features are cleaner and classier than Scarlett's. I slightly prefer Scarlett because of her placid-yet-sensual aura, but admit that sometimes she can look really cheap. In terms of bodies, however, Scarlett is the clear winner.
