Everyone is ethnic, more obviously to individuals who are not part of their "ethnic group", but for the sake of the debate at that point, I simply belabored the point that lumping the Brazilians into the "Caucasian group" was to some extent incorrect. Personally I do consider them ethnic, hence why they were initially used in the argument. Brazilians had been spread throughout the show, clearly being of a different ethnic background then the quote on quote white girls and yet it was discounted because they are not for lack of a better rationale dark enough to be considered ethnic to some people. I'm guessing that some people interpreted you using them as an example as you suggesting that them simply being Brazilian made them ethnic/racial minorities , whereas Ale, Isabelli, Matha, Flavia, Fabiana, and Izabel are all of ethnically German,Italian, and/or Polish and therefore racially considered white like the majority of models in the show. Getting off of that tangent, I'm saddened that neither Emanuela nor Edita will be in this year's show. Emanuela's body is amazingly toned- and not in an Izabel way- while Edita continues to sizzle in every thing she does. Both of them are radiant to me and I wished they still worked with VS regularly. I'm happy with the overall cast, but some of these selections have me scratching my head. And I would have loved to see Jessica Hart return and have to interact with both Natasha and Taylor

Just curious, why did you mention that "any of the Brazilians could be considered ethnic" when, as you recently pointed out, everyone is ethnic? I'm not trying to be combative or belabor the point, I'm just interested in your rationale in pointing to them when you could say the same thing about the Americans or any of the other nationalities.

^ ^Yes, the majority of Brazilian models that have worked for VS (and the vast majority of Brazil's most successful models) are from the three southern-most, European-heavy states of the country. Most are either German or Italian or both. Gisele/Raquel and Heidi are ethnically closer to one another than Isabelli and Emanuela. That actually illustrates the fact that "ethnic" is usually applied to certain under-represented groups, often in an otherizing fashion, while ethnic groups like Germans, Italians, English, Irish, etc are often treated as the "norm". This happens all of the time in the U.S. and other formally-colonized countries. Back to the show, I actually would welcome a Karlie opening, and I'm not even a fan of hers for VS .That said, I don't think Behati would be as bad as some seem to think she'd be

Im glad Im not the only one that thought of Batgirl Thats a bit much for my taste. Hopefully the runway version will be toned down and they wont conceal the majority of the face of the lucky model that ends up in that outfit.

I never realized how many Trentini fans there were on here. Can we trade her for Izabel? I guess we can take comfort in the fact that VS in fact cast her in atleast two more shows than she actually walked. Similarly, VS wanting Natasha to return doesnt come off as that big of a surprise, considering how she too has been cast for atleast two other shows and was on the preliminary board for a few others. I think the most surprising part of this year is that it's looking like she'll actually end up being able to make it.

Right. Doutzen has opened and/or closed a segment every year she has walked up until now. Granted, I think she is one of their stronger walkers

And she has been doing all of her pre-VSFS workouts and of course sharing them via social media. I liked Izabel (alot) in the past, but I do agree with previous posters on here regarding her same poses. Regarding her body, she has always been tiny, but she's sporting some serious cheese-grater abs now

We all know that VS only rarely casts 'older' models again, but she has already walked the show 3 (2005, 2006, 2009) times, so it's not that much of a stretch She was also cast for 2007 and 2008, but was called in to work for Vogue both times (the same thing supposedly happened with Raquel for one of those years). Weren't they also roommates with Emanuela and one other Brazilian model who was less successful here than they?

I like the pace of this season so far and appreciate the character development we've seen with Carol since the beginning of the show.

Isabeli is actually older than KK, so she would have either had to have been shooting for them before or during the same time they cast KK. And I believe Anastasia Kunetsova was only 17 when she walked in 2009, but yeah I think she's the only exception since 2001. I wouldn't mind Beyonce performing. She wouldn't be my first choice, but they definitely could do worse.

And she had just turned 16, which says alot about her agency and the VS casting crew... As a number of people have already mentioned, she was really everywhere from 2000-2004 and was a favorite for practically every top fashion house, so it's not that surprising that she got the FB and opened the show before actually being an angel. I would argue the same for Carmen opening the 1999 show and Gisele opening the 2000 one. Unfortunately, the only non-angels i could possibly see getting are the socialite/celebrity models and even then I'd consider that highly unlikely.
