I just have a hard time wrapping my mind around how someone can hate or dislike someone so much because of their looks.

She is just absolutely fabulous. Just saw Silver Linings and she was great. Glad she's receiving recognition for it

^ I agree. I think that associating her with pro-anorexia websites/groups is a really low blow because she's not promoting them. From the interviews I've seen, she just promotes healthy eating and exercise (mantra of all models who are asked about diet). Some people are naturally skinny and can't put on weight, but apparently they aren't "real" women.

I'm starting to notice that some people treat the angel line-up like it affects them personally. Everything's going to be okay because it's just a clothing brand. These women aren't running our countries or in charge of our safety. So you have to stare at Karlie for a few years in the catalogs? Big deal. Doesn't mean that Barbara or Bregje or Lais or any of the other regulars don't have a shot at becoming an angel when some of the older angels leave the company.

It's fine to express your opinion but the way you express it is just as important. If I were to say 'Emily has bug eyes, weird teeth, and she looks like there's absolutely nothing going on in her head' you'd probably not appreciate that. Freedom of speech gives me the right to say that, but doesn't excuse the fact that it's just rude. And like everyone else is stating, opinions aren't facts. Facts are facts.

And that's your opinion. Are we not allowed to have opinions that are different than yours? Because that's basically what you're saying.

I love Magdalena and Karlie. I think the reason why people are warming up to Karlie, and correct me if I'm wrong, is that she's starting to figure out what angles work for her, got a new hair cut, seems more confident modeling lingerie, etc. Not to mention seeing her in motion really helps. A personal example I can give is Daphne Groeneveld. I used to not be very fond of her unusual features, but I saw her in motion in the Dior Addict ad and that won me over. It could be a many number of things. Sometimes opinions just change.

It really is. The skin is all blurred and the highlights are awful. Attack of the smudge and blur tools!

And you act like Photoshop is this new, foreign tool and a real atrocity. No. It's not new and it's not going anywhere, especially when it comes to VS. They Photoshop everything. There's a fine line between having an opinion and being a fanatic and you cross it every single time with these lengthy posts either bashing other models or praising Barbara. We get it. Karlie is awful and Barbara wins at life.

All these Aerie pictures are so stunning. I especially love the fragrance shot Excited to see the commercial. That sneak peek picture looks great.

I'm all for thought-provoking discussion on model-related issues but all I'm gathering is 'Karlie's body is gross, Candice tries too hard/is used too much, and Miranda is an attention whore' over and over and over. Oh and in case people forget...ALL THE MODELS GET PHOTOSHOPPED! I like Karlie too. These girls are clearly bringing something to the table for VS or they'd get the axe. Yes, VS is pushing them but if they weren't seeing a return on their efforts, they'd stop. They're a business first and foremost.
