She attended Roland Park Country School in her hometown of Baltimore, Maryland. She landed the role of Lucy Montgomery on the soap opera As the World Turns in 2001. Her soap character's popular pairing with older bad boy Dusty Donovan (Grayson McCouch) garnered many fans and a lot of press for the young actress. List left the soap in 2005. Recently, List starred in the movie The Greatest Game Ever Played, as Shia LaBeouf's character's love interest. She also had a guest appearance on Smallville as Lois Lane's little sister.
