Regarding San Diego Film Critics nominating Waltz discussion Yes, and the Washington D.C. Film Critics nominated Leo , and guess what no Waltz , so it's worked both ways so far And , personally, for me rather than continue to speculate who is /who isn't going to be nodded, I'm waiting to the various precursor groups ( BFCA, SAG,GG ) start rolling out their nominations starting tomorrow. I personally see no reason to be 'negative' to we know what truly happens . Until then , I'll think positive about Leo's award chances. And if he is isn't nodded ? As Kat and others here have said , Leo doesn't need an Oscar , anymore than does Peter O'Toole to prove he is one of the best actors of his generation to his fellow respected artists (actor/directors) And , ByPrincess, I totally agree, the reason 99% are wanting Leo to be part of the award season is purely self centered : it's gives us opportunities for more new pix /video clips of him (Y) Sic Tks for all the Erik Linder pix

Pami I had posted that new yesterday that Weinstein had move Waltz back to supporting acting category and would now be competing for SA against Leo and Sam As to Calvin and his sister As we read recently , several people , who had read the script before seeing the movie , said there were new scenes not in in the script. And as a person who read the script, I can tell you that Calvin's sister was 'barely there'. She just came off as a nice , older sister who was not really part of Calvin's wilder antics, so like Calvin, this guy's remarks has my curiosity

A strong Best Picture contender may carry in '3' nods, but so from the tweets I've found most view Django as a highly entertaining film/ strong boxoffice potential, but not going to give Lincoln/Zero Dark Thirty/Les Miserables any competition for Best Picture. For me personally , it is not a lack of faith in Leo's performance, but the fact when it comes to playing the Oscar game , how Harvey moves his players , and he has a lot to play with this year ( Joaquin Phoenix, Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Bradley Cooper, Robert DeNiro, Leonardo DiCaprio, Samuel Jackson, Christopher Waltz ) has a 'significance' .

ByPrincess Yes, I agree with your sentiments , but the fact is that there are only '5' slots for BSA , and it is very unlikely , with the other strong supporting actor contenders, from other films that voters will give '3' nods to actors from same film and Harvey knows that, and that is they 'key' thing to remember this was a move on Harvey's part.
