As you think back to that film, what is the costume that stands out as the most personally meaningful to you? I think it was the bear skin, to tell you the truth. I worked on that so hard. First of all, you can’t just go buy a bear skin. They have to be attained from the Parks Department of Canada. That’s where I obtained them. They cull the bear population, and I think only two grizzly bears can be taken in a year. We had to give huge donations to an animal preservation fund in order for them to give those to us. What were the challenges of working with such a rare material? For all of that whole, big, long movie, how does he wear it? How does Leo navigate in that? If he’s lost the use of an arm and a leg from the bear attack, how does he move in that? How does he travel? And the real Hugh Glass traveled from the mouth of the Grand River in northern South Dakota all the way down to Fort Kiowa at the very south of South Dakota. What did Alejandro González Iñárritu say he wanted from the costume? Alejandro did an initial drawing of Leo in this big bear skin with the claws still on it, and the head’s still on it. Regarding Critics Choice awards tonight, trying to think OPTIMISTICALLY for us Leo fans , maybe , certain cast members /etc agreed to attend SAGS for ensemble representation , and others would attend Critics Choice = sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo maybe since McKay and Leo didn't attend SAGS , they will represent DLU tonight A girl has to think positive Also 3 other BAFTA nominees Will Smith , Mahershala Ali , and Adeel Aktar aren't in attendance either , so only British actors Benedict Cumberbatch and Leo's pal Stephen Graham represent the Male nominees

Well, like everyone here, I would have loved to have had at least one red carpet appearance by Leo this award season, but it appears it is not to be While at same time I'm curious as to who will show up to sit at DLU table at tonight's Critics Choice award event tonight as the film was nominated for Best Comedy, Original screenplay, score and song

Kayyy Tks for follow up to Snopes article As the Snopes article did seem to have done their homework as to source of original claim , as well as, to reaching out to parties involved As I discussed with Barbie , typically when Leo announces any partnership or donation to any cause the US wire services AP & Reuters always have articles about said partnership or donation So it was very very odd to me that no such articles have been forthcoming Plus we know Leo’s group often use celeb site Just Jared to get news out , yet , oddly just yesterday they ran article as to who bought Leo’s Los Feliz house , but not a $10 million donation ?? Very odd for sure ! Glad to see that they have made an official statement on matter And as long time fans of Leo know it doesn’t take long before a Twitter comment starts sailing around the world of gossip

Update Re Leo's donation, according to this group that researched this claim of the $10 million donation , neither Leo's rep or the International group it was supposedly given to know anything about this donation when they were contacted The article researches how the rumor began and how it snowballed picked up by other groups It states the Daily Mail article about the supposed donation ( which I posted a link to earlier ) has now been deleted https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/leonardo-dicaprio-donate-ukraine/
