Anna Benson (born February 12, 1976 in Atlanta, Georgia) is an American model and wife of Baltimore Orioles pitcher Kris Benson. Benson is known for her looks and controversial, outspoken personality. Anna Benson was born outside of Atlanta in 1976. In 1993, Anna married when she was 17. She and her husband had a child together, but they divorced in late 1994. In 1998, Anna met then-minor league pitcher Kris Benson. The couple dated and then married. She and Kris did a spicy article for Penthouse. In 1999, Kris was called up to the majors and pitched for the Pittsburgh Pirates. Life in New York On July 30, 2004, the Pirates traded Kris to the New York Mets. In November 2004, Anna posed for FHM magazine. FHM called her baseball's hottest wife. The combination of the photo shoot and the Stern interview made Anna more popular in New York. In July 2005, she began playing at the 2005 World Series of Poker in Las Vegas under the nickname "Gold Digger." In November 2005, Anna was supposedly negotiating to pose nude for Playboy, but the two sides couldn't come to an agreement over money. A month later, Anna generated more controversy by attending the New York Mets Christmas party wearing a low-cut Santa outfit red dress. Benson created more controversy with statement that Met VP Omar Minaya was "putting together an all-Latino team." On January 21, 2006, the Mets traded Kris to the Baltimore Orioles for pitchers Jorge Julio and John Maine. Some think Anna is the reason why Benson was traded from the Mets to Orioles for the 2006 season. She held that it was strictly a business decision but also maintained that she would not change her behavior with her husband pitching for the Baltimore Orioles, seeming to suggest that she might have recognized that her outspoken personality might have had something to do with her husband's departure from New York, whether she wanted to admit it or not. During the baseball season, Anna went on Howard Stern's radio show and said that she would have sex with all members of the Baltimore Orioles organization, including the grounds crew, if she were ever to learn he had an affair. It was later learned that this has always been an inside joke within the Benson circle. Anna posed for the April 2006 issue of the very popular FHM magazine, which was a baseball season preview and an interview of Anna and Kris. On June 17, 2006, Kris pitched against the Mets in an interleague game at Shea Stadium. Met fans taunted Kris and chanted Let's Go, Anna!!
