Holland- Mexico was very intense, or should I say, the 2nd half. Seems like none was really attacking in the first half, maybe the weather conditions didn't help much? Wow and the Mexican goal keeper was quite good, he caught so many shots, but couldn't handle Sneider's goal. It was just an empty corridor on the left of the goal, so it was inevitable. But I didn't expect the penalty. It was deserved yes, but what a stupid decision from the Mexican player who fouled Robben. It was a very strong attack from Robben, yes, but it wasn't certain that it will end with a goal. But getting a penalty garantees you a 99% chance to have a goal. So he shouldn't have risked it. I'm happy Holland moves on but I also have to give it to Mexico for playing so well. Their defense and their goal keeper were the best imo.

Oscar was invisible last night, Hulk had some pretty good shots, but that's all.

They do. Dani Alves wasnt at his best last night, so imagine Neymar injured or with a yellow card so he misses one game, then what happens? The team relies too much on him. But I was glad to see him so calm during the last penalty strike. He was just so confident and at ease. Psychology is a big part of this game.

I just woke up and I am still full of emotion from last night's game between Brazil and Chile. Didn't watch the 2nd match, I was too tired. I agree that penalties are a lottery, I don't find them to be a true measure of the abilities of the two teams. If two teams can't beat each other in the regular time, this means they are equal. It's all about luck in penalties, malchance for Chile. But Howard Webb, one of my fave refs, did a fantastic job last night. He wasn't fooled though several times players were falling down for penalties, but he knew just how to handle the game, so I am very happy with his refereeing. Tonight's 1st match should be as entertaining as last night's I hope. I am cheering for Holland, but lets see how it goes.

At first I was for Brazil but when I saw the fantastic play from Chile I wished they won. So if none of the teams could score each other goals in the given time then they are pretty equal no? Im so sad for Chile!!!! But I guess it's better for the WC and for the whole tournament that Brazil won. I guess if they lost it would have been a catharsis. They'd start off a revolution or something.

OH MY GOD! this match just drove me to tears!!!!! the penalties! and how can they hit the bar twice?? once in the regular time and once during penalties!!! I certainly saw more than i could ask for in this game, but wow, i almost had a heart attack a the penalty kicks!

What a dynamic first half!!!! wooaaah And that last corner + attack from Chilli should have been a goal! I don't know what will happen in the 2nd half, but if the Brazilians get dethroned in their own country, it will be the biggest surprise of the tournament. Neymar's got good moves, he's very dangerous in those quick runs, he picks up the ball very fast, but then Sanchez is as dangerous as Neymar is, so nothing is decided yet Can't wait to see more goals in the 2nd half/.

Agree about Brazil' all they have is Neymar, like Portugal only has cristiano, one man doesn't make the game. Its a collective play, Thays why I think that the teams with best collective play will advance like Holland and Germany. This isn't a one man show.
