Guti happy with Madrid squad Real Madrid playmaker Guti believes the Spanish champions do not need to make any more additions to their squad this summer. Although a host of players have left the Bernabeu this summer, Madrid have also been busy drafting fresh blood in, with Pepe, Javier Saviola, Jerzy Dudek and Christoph Metzelder all new arrivals. Roberto Soldado and Julio Baptista have also returned from their loan spells, but despite those reinforcements Real are still being linked with further signings, such as Arjen Robben, Jose Antonio Reyes, Kaka and Roysten Drenthe. Guti, one of Real's three club captains last season, insists he would still welcome any new players into the fold, but feels that Real now have enough strength in depth without needing to make any extra signings. "The team has a good squad and there are some players who aren't here with us (at Real's training camp in Austria) that have a lot to give, such as Julio Baptista," he said. "There are many players in the squad and we will all enjoy several minutes of playing time this season. Nevertheless, I will welcome any new signings, even if they are for my position, but I personally feel we have enough players as it is. "We are a strong team with players capable of playing for many minutes during one game. "The important thing is that the club is signing players we need as opposed to signing stars. This is what we need in order to be strong challengers for every title," added the 30-year-old, who insists he is not concerned about Real being linked with new signings who play a similar role to him. "If they come it would mean the team has more chances of using a rotation system. I have no problems with this because I believe I can bring a lot to the team and I will make things difficult for any newcomer," he said.

KAKA' IS OUR SYMBOL The President Silvio Berlusconi, before posing for the ritual photos of the days from the Rossoneri’s training camp, spoke with Milan Channel. The President wanted this way to outline yet again what is the strategy of the club for the season that is starting: “We’re ready once again to take forward this splendid adventure which has been going on for twenty years. Milan wants to give its fans what it naturally expects from a European Champion team. Naturally, we shall try to obtain great results by expressing the best football, winning and convincing while respecting our opponents. On the pitch we shall not only prove our technical qualities but also our morale ones. The objective is once again that of trying to be stronger than jealousy, injustice and bad luck.” The President then also answered questions relative to the market, trying to clear things out: “First of all we re-start with an extra Ronaldo and he is a great champion. At the moment we have not made any purchase because we believe that the accessibly players on the market are equal or even inferior to the ones we already have in the squad. If there will be a purchase, it will have to be Milan worthy purchase. We have two observed players, I hope that one of them can help us to improve our squad, therefore we shall see how the situation evolves.” Finally, for Silvio Berlusconi there is no Kaka case: “That of Kaka is really a stupid story. The player has never wanted to leave. What has been reported by the newspapers is not reality, it was all created to sell more newspapers.” Then the President Silvio Berlusconi made some declarations to the journalists present at the press conference on the current main issues: Shevchenko: “I’m very tied to Sheva and I have always expressed my approval for his possible return. However, right now we don’t feel able to make any offer which can please Chelsea. There are insurmountable obstacles tied to the player’s value.” Pato: “He’s a player we are following and we consider him of great value. Even though he is only 17 years old, we believe that we can invest in the player, like we did for example for Gourcuff who in France is considered the only real heir to Zidane. If we decide to buy Pato right now, his arrival would exclude any other arrival, in fact we don’t want to create too much dualism considering we already have a big squad in my opinion.” World Club Cup: “It’s certainly a fundamental objective, all of the continents will watch us and the final will be a great stage.” Champions League: “Winning the Champions League is always very difficult. All the European teams have strengthened themselves, but we also know that the purchases not always lead to victories. When we were negotiating the purchases for hypothetical substitutes of Gattuso, Pirlo or Seedorf for example, we did not find on the market any valid or superior alternative to them.” The Kaka case: “There has never existed the possibility that Kaka leaves Milan. Kaka is a player symbol of Milan and we hope that he can finish his career at Milan. In any case, no gentleman can come to the President of Milan, Silvio Berlusconi, and say that he wants to take Kaka away because they offer him more.” The Suazo affair: “I appreciated the coherence and the choice of Suazo. The player was offered to us without we knowing of his words in favour of Inter. When I learnt about this I did not even try to convince the player and after 30 seconds we retreated from the negotiation.”
