  6. Strong start for Red Bull Racing 14 March 2008 The 2008 Formula 1 season got off to a good start for the Red Bull Racing team. Both Mark Webber and David Coulthard managed to complete the laps with competitive lap times. Webber was even second fastest at Friday's second free practice session at his home Grand Prix. Speaking about today's work Webber said: "That wasn't too bad. There was probably a few different fuel loads out there so it's hard to know exactly where we are. There are definitely four cars that are quicker than us, so we'll get our heads down this evening and work on the race information before qualifying tomorrow. It's pretty windy out on the track, but it's an issue for everyone." Car 9 Coulthard commented: "We lost time in the first session due to a gearbox problem, so we had a lot of ground to make up in the second practice, which is frustrating after our strong reliability during winter testing. We had a busy programme to complete this afternoon, but we managed to get through it and make up some time."

Honda drivers upbeat after free practice 14 March 2008 The 2008 season got underway in Melbourne today with the first two practice sessions for this weekend's curtain-raiser, the Australian Grand Prix. Honda Racing drivers Jenson Button and Rubens Barrichello were upbeat after concluding a solid day of set-up work to fine-tune the RA108 to the demands of the Albert Park circuit conditions. Button and Barrichello ended the day in 11th and 14th positions. "Today has been a good day for us," said Button. "We focused mainly on tyre work and getting the best out of the car in the very hot conditions. Everything went smoothly and the car feels much as it did at the Jerez test, which is pleasing. We won't know our true relative position compared to the competition until later tomorrow, but at the moment the priority for us is focusing on our own test items and adapting the set-up to the requirements and conditions here." Rubens Barrichello said: "It's very hot and dry today, with the temperatures increasing this afternoon, so the track has lost some grip over the course of the day. The track was better in the morning session and I was much happier with the car then. "It is still too early to tell how we will perform in qualifying tomorrow. We ran a fairly conservative programme today and we are looking better than in testing, but Friday is not a real indicator of performance as everyone is running their own programme with regard to fuel levels. We aim to be in the middle of the pack tomorrow and I believe we are on course for this."

Button doesn't expect to score points in Melbourne 14 March 2008 Honda driver Jenson Button believes his Honda Formula 1 car is not competitive just yet to start scoring points from the opening round in Melbourne. The Briton does expect though the team will face a more competitive season than last year when the team was unable to impress. "The great thing is that no-one has a clue where we stand and it's quite exciting," Button said. "I don't think we are going to be challenging for points but we are going to be a lot closer, actually racing in the mix with the slower part of that middle pack." But Button does believe the team should be able to score points later on in the season. "If it keeps going the way we think it is going to go and it stays on track then I'll be very happy," he said.

PARTICULAR SIGNS: PATO Alexandre Pato was the guest at Milan Channel close to the Rossoneri fans: “At Milan I’m fine, it’s like a family and I feel at home. Ronaldo is the greatest" – PATO'S DECLARATIONS - Alexandre Pato was the guest of Segni Particolari (Particular Signs). These are some of his declarations: First thing, the Brazilian national team: “I’m Brazilian and for me playing with the shirt of my national team is very important. I’m happy for the call-up (friendly game of the 26th of March against Sweden, in program in London, at the Emirates Stadium) and I’m happy that Kaka will be there too. “Cafu is always with me, he talks to me, he gives me suggestions and he's a reference point for the Brazilians who arrive at Milan. The Brazilian players of Milan are great examples for me, from Ronaldo to Emerson, from Dida to Cafu, from Kaka to Serginho: they have won a lot, with Milan and with the national team, and I admire them a lot.” Pato has been praised straight away for his great performances during training, which were spontaneous: “I try to be calm on and off the pitch, and I try to do the best thing for me and the team.” Many teams wanted Pato before he signed for Milan: “I did not have many doubts, I spoke with my dad, with the persons who are close to me, and I chose Milan because it is a great team, a serious club. Everyone told me that I would not find a better place, and then there are many Brazilians. For me, Milan is a family and a home. There are many people who give me serenity and tranquillity.” Other declarations: “I still have a lot to improve, and each day I work for this. Also the Italian language! It’s getting better, but I study every day. “The goals I like best from the ones I scored so far at Milan are those I scored against Napoli and Fiorentina. “The best player ever? Ronaldo.”
