The "DHL Presents the Major League Baseball Delivery Man of the Year Award" (a terrible name) is given to the best reliver in baseball, I think that's important. MLB just does not market the reliever of the year award like they do with the MVP and CY Young. If sometime in the future they changed the name to the Mariano Rivera Award like you suggested, then probably people would see it to be just as important as the CY Young. Everyone knows that he is one of the best closers of all-time and the best closer in postseason history.

While he would have recieved my vote for CY Young, I don't see a big deal in his being snubbed for it. Besides, relievers already get an award.
