IMHO, the main issue with EU/NATO is that they lack collective 'hard power' to threaten the US as they are too many small and medium sized states without enough economic or military weight to gain leverage. NATO/EU was also developed under the US umbrella, falsely assuming the US would forever remain a friendly power. In watching their self-destructive behavior around the Ukraine war and with dealing with the US it appears that most of them are spineless wealthy bureaucrats that are mainly afraid of getting fired than doing the right thing for their country. China/Asia in general has introverted politics and all are very vulnerable to disruption to global trade by the US Navy and Trump as an destabilizing/chaotic agent. Iran and Venezuela are in the same boat as the Europeans- can't really retaliate against the US. I think on the world stage the US is now a rogue state.
