Hegseth has been recorded publicly in supporting Christian Zionist positions (creating 3rd Temple in Jerusalem etc) to "accelerate" the coming of Jesus Christ. So he was always on page with Bibi. This guy is a radical, his body is covered with Christian crusader tattoos. He was born with wealth and is one of those Americans who got the easy ticket to harvard because his family is so rich. Despite being rich he didn't get a desk job and volunteered to fight the Muslims in the GWOT. He lives in a huge mansion, styled in a conservative fashion. From his statements and behavior I can see that he possesses great arrogance and megalomania, like the villians from "Kingdom of Heaven". He is one of those who thinks that America is favored by God despite everything... being rich all his life must have shielded him from reality. It is pretty messed up that our Secretary of "war" is this guy.

Iran is the 'final boss' of the Middle East in US military geostrategic thinking/policy papers in controlling the global oil trade after eliminating all enemies/oil wealthy middle eastern countries in the region by co-opting them with regime change with pro-US dictatorships. US military and think tanks (funded by oil & gas, MIC, multinational corps, investment funds etc) has been interested in a war with Iran since they built the bases in the GCC countries. I remember when I was growing up as a kid there was news stuff on TV about "Will the US eventually invade Iran" due to the base building? It took 25+ years for it happen. Iran is the final boss in US military war games because it was perceived as the strongest enemy to defeat militarily.... Russia and China do not want the US to completely take over middle eastern oil (Russia is also obsessed with the concept of "Buffer Zones" as they do not want a US-NATO backed regime change operation in Moscow, which is the main reason why they launched a pre-emptive invasion of Ukraine). I also believe that's why Russia propped up the Syrian regime and initially had the upper hand until they got bogged down in the Ukraine. Iran is very important to both Russia and China so they definitely don't want a successful US regime change in Iran.

US Army reserve has not been mobilized yet like the 2003 Invasion of Iraq or Operation Desert Storm- all there is news of is of regimental scale active-duty elite units being moved to the middle east. If there is going to be some kind of ground operation soon it is certainly only going to be a small scale action for some sort of high value target, out of many. If this operation somehow leads to a mobilization in the US that's when the real global disaster will begin...
