  1. More info about Tarantino movie, now has producers, studious are bidding. EXCLUSIVE: Bidders are in hot pursuit of distribution rights to Quentin Tarantino’s new project, the one that is set in Los Angeles in the late ’60s and early ’70s, with Tarantino hoping hard that Margot Robbie will play the role of Sharon Tate. Just about every studio in town except Disney is chasing, along with several financiers and mini-majors seeking domestic rights. Deadline set the stage for this auction recently, and here’s what is new: Add Tom Cruise to the short list of candidates Tarantino has spoken with to play one of two lead male roles. He joins Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio in that small circle, but it is entirely unclear if all three will be in the movie, or two of them, or any of them, because much of that comes down to making a deal and scheduling. Harry Potterproducer David Heyman will join Tarantino as the main producer on this film, and it will be his first collaboration with Tarantino. Heyman and Tarantino will produce with Shannon McIntosh, and Georgia Kacandes will be exec producer and line producer. As for the studios, all the majors are in (Fox has been least aggressive, perhaps with all that is going on over there), and add to that list of Sony, Fox and Universal others knocking on the door like Annapurna and Lionsgate for a domestic deal that would require the international sales effort that went intoThe Hateful Eight. Also knocking are several pure equity financiers. The bidding is wide open right now, but a victor will be known before Thanksgiving, for sure, I’m told. There has been a lot of press that the script focuses on Charles Manson and the murder spree he orchestrated, but I’m told that is akin to calling Inglourious Basterds a movie about Adolf Hitler, when the Nazi leader was only in a scene or two. Deadline reported months ago that Robbie had been asked to play Manson murder victim Tate. The film will be set in Los Angeles and begin production in mid-2018 for a 2019 release, and it will be an R-rated film, like all Tarantino’s directing efforts. Those who’ve read it said the script has heart and a strong commercial appeal, and if there is a film of Tarantino’s it can be best compared to, it would be Pulp Fiction, which also was set in Los Angeles. The film will carry a budget in the range of Django Unchained. http://deadline.com/2017/11/quentin-tarantino-movie-bidding-david-heyman-producer-margot-robbie-tom-cruise-brad-pitt-leonaro-dicaprio-1202208169/
  2. In Brazil was even later, the movie was released in theaters in march or april of 98, if I'm not mistaken... and in VHS just in december of 98 (when I saw at schcol) and than some 3 times at home with my family, LOL. I remember going to rent in the video store and the movie was never there because EVERYONE rented Titanic, and it was even more than 1 copy. Talking about DVD, I remember I saw James Cameron on tv showing Titanic DVD for the first time, I mean DVD was a big deal in 98... come on now. It's funny to think about it now, times change, but that was fun times for sure.
  3. I saw Titanic the first time at school, in 2 parts because ya know how VHS worked, haha. At that time I wasn't a Leo's fan yet... all my other classmates were.
  4. This is one cool story. It might be a great book. Like any wife and mother, Kayla Olson loves spending time with family, but the happiest place on earth is the middle of the ocean. “That is true,” she said. Kayla, of Denton, fell hard for the Disney cruise line. In fact, she and her husband, Andrew, just returned from their fourth Disney cruise. But it was the first time she set sail when her world magically changed. “It never crossed my mind that that cruise ship could change my life,” she said. Kayla was an aspiring author, without a single book to her name, when that Disney cruise stopped at an island called Castaway Cay. For Kayla, it was love at first sight. But once she returned home, all she could think about was that beach. Unfortunately, she couldn’t afford another trip. So Kayla created her own beach by writing a book, “The Sandcastle Empire.” Only her beach was much more dangerous and far more dramatic. Once Kayla finished writing, for the first time, a publishing company agreed to print her book. But before it ever hit the shelves, she got an unexpected phone call. On the other end was Kayla’s agent with news that Paramount Pictures wanted to make her book a movie. “And it was Leonardo Dicaprio’s production company,” she said. Keep in mind, this is the first book Kayla has ever had published and soon, one of the best actors in the world, will make it come to life. The movie is in development, meaning it’ll be awhile before it hits the big screen, but Kayla says there’s a lesson out there for anyone dreamer who needs to find a spark. “The best possible way for your life to be turned upside down is a Disney Cruise.” The happiest cruise on earth. http://www.wfaa.com/entertainment/north-texas-womans-first-book-draws-attention-of-paramount-pictures/491430172

  12. I didn't remember the dinners would be in NY. Good memory.
  13. thanks for the tweets, calibi. thanks for the new pics, bnkenobi. I wonder if this dinner have to do with his gala bid? I think it's possible, if I'm not mistaken the dinner with Leo and Kate would happen in october or november, so it could be the dinner with the bid winners.
  14. thanks calibi, ox and jade for the updates. Jade: In that article I posted a few pages back it was said that Charles Manson character won't be too much in this movie, it's said to be something like Hitler on Inglorious Basterds, the movie won't be focused on him, so I don't think that's the role Tarantino have for Leo. But of course we still don't have sure of anything, just my opinion regarding that article.
  15. And how about Anitta guys? Do you know her? She's huge in Brazil... she's starting to became bigger in other countries, I guess? I think this song would be nice for the girls to walk the runway. And this one is nice too, it's in portuguese, but have a really nice beat. And Paradinha in spanish, Lais Ribeiro appears briefly on this music video. But I doubt VS is going to call her anyway, she's not big enough for that, at least not yet.
  16. marenebing: thanks for the cute story. calibi and ox: thanks for more LACMA pics. ox and bnkenobi: thanks for the new pics. jade: I don't think that woman at the table is Jennifer Lawrence, that woman look a bit old to be her...
  17. thanks calibi and ox for the new pics, he looks great.
