I'm sure there will be at least one more Bazaar September cover for Linda. There are 29 other editions in the world with the option of using either of the 19 portraits in Carine's portfolio. And of course there are still the September covers for Vogue USA and Vogue Italia that have yet to be revealed! Wshful thinking of course. But I have a feeling the American Vogue cover is going to to go Karlie Kloss and possibly more of the younger generation of models. Who knows?

Linda, Gaga and Penelope each have newsstand covers for US edition, and it looks like they each have a subscriber edition as well but I'm not sure.

Thank you very much Doosia! Gorgeous shot! :wub2: And the first things that came to mind when I saw this was that once again, Linda is styled by in Commes de Garcon, just as she was in Vogue Japan. Coincidence? They might as well be paying Linda!! I find this very interesting. The second thing is that this reminds of when she was climbing out of that sweater in the "Freedom" video nearly 25 years ago! I read the full article from where this originated at WWD. This is part of a special project/portfolio of 19 different women by Carine Roitfield for Harper's Bazaar. This portfolio will appear in all 30 editions of Harper's Bazaar throughout the world. Each of these 30 editions have the OPTION of using one of these 19 portraits on the cover. So Linda's portrait might or might not make an actual cover. I hope this makes sense.

Now that's a blast from the past! Thanks spiral! Yes, FAMAMOCA, please post more if you happen to run across others. I love seeing stuff I've never seen before! And the way I can usually tell the date of a photo is by Linda's hair and brows. Her hair was either red or platinum in '91, and her brows were fuller. In the photo that you posted, it looks as though she has that weird 2-tone look she temporarily sported in '96 or'97. And going by that, I don't think it's even '95. But I could be wrong! ------------- On a completely different note, I'm excited to announce that the folks at Models.com saw fit to edit Linda's new Legends profile. It seems as though they combined her former Supers profile with the new Legends. Well, whatever they did, they got it right this time! It's truly a worthy description of Linda and her long and illustrious career. Check it out: http://models.com/rankings/ui/Legends/2035#2035

^Thanks FAMAMOCA! Love that! Only it isn't from 1991, it looks more like '95 or '96.

Cindy's was waaaay past due, something I will never understand. Much in the way that I don't understand why the mainstream industry hasn't used her significantly for several years, especially in ad campaigns in the U.S. where she is still a household name. Stephanie...I feel that if Stephanie is going to be included here, then Helena, Amber, Shalom and others should also be on this list. For me, It's sort of an odd list of models, being that it's about modeling legends, which makes me wonder if it's still a work in progress. After all, where is Lauren Hutton? Twiggy? But I digress. Back to Gisele, I believe she more than belongs on this list, for the reason that she's purely a model, and a damned good one, and she didn't go the movie route or even become a first lady. Gisele is a living modeling LEGEND. Period.

http://models.com/rankings/ui/Legends/1544#1544 Thanks so much, michelabella! I had no idea that there was a "legends" ranking. It's been a while since I've looked at that stuff. My first reaction to this was, "Wow! I like that they created the 'Legends' category!" But then I noticed who was all considered a 'legend' and read the corresponding descriptions of each 'legend' and I began to feel that Linda got slighted, too. Her previous description in the now defunct "supermodel" category described her as "One of the greatest models of all time" and "the grand dame of modeling", and now she is known for her Vogue Italia cover record, obviously lifted from Wikipedia. And yes, that reference to Linda being a frequent collaborator with Azzedine Alaia left me scratching my head, thinking that things have changed a lot -- and not for the better -- since Wayne Sterling's departure from Models.com Well, what can we do?

^ Maybe they got lazy with Linda's hair, which is naturally wavy/curly, and they didn't want to bother with straightening it to make it conform with the other girls. And Matt Cyrus, you're so right about that cover! I never even noticed that Vogue Japan uses white backgrounds consistently!

OH. MY. GOODNESS. We finally have the correct Vogue Japan September 2014 cover, folks! No, it's not what I had originally hoped for but I do love it!! :wub2: If anyone has a bigger, version, please post ASAP!! Linda looks GORGEOUS here!! And is that Nadja Auermann next to Claudia Schiffer? I haven't seen her in ages!!

^ I read somewhere that Linda kept her brows bleached on purpose, keeping her face a blank "canvas" for which the make-up artist can paint his/her own vision. All I know is that those Aura Loewe studio shots are hideous. LOL. :yuckky:

Thank you so much, Matt Cyruss! The pics for Maxwell are straight out the Loewe Aura fragrance campaign. While I absolutely ADORE the commercial spots for that campaign, I am not a fan of those studio shots. Uggh. :yuckky: But let's talk about that epic photo for Vogue Japan September 14! It's been rotating around the Twitterverse for awhile now, first on the teaser cover that was released and then what appeared to be the real cover but there was no confirmation of the latter. A thread was started for these 'covers' at tFS 4 different times and deleted each time. I'm really hoping that it is going to be the actual cover as it is such an incredible portrait! It's badass!! :neo2:
